The Charlotte Music Awards 2013 Blues Showcase will be held on April 12th, 8pm at The Saloon at the NC Music Factory.

Up date from Ken Dukes,

Friday April 12, Tabitha, Paul Miller, and Ken Dukes Band at the Saloon 8 PM

Sharon, We would really love to have you and your meet up group attend the Charlotte Music Awards Blues showcase at the Saloon on Friday April 12 at 8 PM if you can be there. We (Tabitha, Paul, I and our band, Ken Dukes & the Carolina Players) will only be performing one 30 minute set between 8 PM and 11 PM. I will tell you the specific time as soon as I have it. The other five bands will each be playing their 30 minute sets before & after us, and we realize that you and your friends may not be able to stay for the entire event. I have already purchased tickets for you and some of your friends, so we hope that we get to see you there. Please invite Jerry & Holly if they are free that evening, and any other friends that may enjoy the music event. I will send a message to Kathy McNally. If we know the names of the people who are coming, we can leave the (pre-paid for you and your friends) tickets with the host & hostess at the entrance. If you send me your phone number, I will call you to see if we can accommodate you and your friends even more.

Ken Dukes

I we have RSVP! Just sign up on our site and show up it will be under Sharon Decker, Hiking Group.

This showcase features the best Blues artists from all over the Carolinas starring: Alan Barrington (Rock Hill SC), The Bill Miller Band (Charlotte), Boogie Children (Greenville SC) , Cadillac Black (Spartanburg SC), David Reavis Band (High Point NC), and Ken Dukes & The Carolina Players (Charlotte NC).

The Carolina Players consists of: Ken Dukes on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, Tabitha Miller, vocals, Paul Miller on guitar & vocals, Scott McFarlane on keyboards, Jim Powers on bass, and Gerry Hagstedt on drums. Our band members have performed extensively throughout the US, as well as Canada, and the Caribbean Islands. Ken Dukes has had the honor of performing alongside artists like Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, as well as John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band. After a decade of extensive touring, he had the pleasure of playing regular studio sessions at many NY & NJ recording studios alongside artists like Glen Burtnik, formerly of Styx, and Paul Crook of Meatloaf. Re-emerging as live performers after being inspired by three amazing Charlotte, NC blues bands, the members noted above have been selectively called together to re-live the passion for performing live music that had been on temporary hiatus.

    Friday night Blues Hi Sharon,
I'd love to go on Friday I've been to the music factory several times for music, comedy, etc. Do you know anyone coming that might be interested in car pooling? I'm in Fort Mill but could pick someone up along I-77. I'm somewhat concerned about being a single female parking in that area. The parking is usually so far away from the venue. I haven't rsvp'd yet. Thanks.

Thanks for responding and spreading the word. I have tickets for the first 8 friends of yours who would like to attend. I can either send tickets to them, or tell the people at the front door of the Saloon their names so that they will not have to pay the $10 entrance cost. We really appreciate your helping us, and look forward to seeing you and your friends at the Saloon and any other place that we can. Ken Dukes
