Hey I want to check you guys out but I don't have the book. Is it alright if I just visit? I promise I'll read next time!

I'd like to read this one and show up, but the date isn't great. Not sure how much crossover there is between the literati and the bacchanalians, but May 18 is Bay To Breakers, and if nothing else, getting around the city that day can be an effort.

Yes, we knew about Bay To Breakers. Unfortunately, the following weekend is a holiday weekend, so that one seemed even more difficult to meet. We could possibly move this book to be the following meeting which will be 3-4 weeks after this one. I'll ask for opinions at the next meetup for Life of Pi and see if that works for people.
seems like Bay to Breakers should be well over by 5pm? I might be mistaken, of course

also, if it is at Cafe Boheme, as I see some of the recent meetups were, it is well out of the B2B path
The bus routes and most streets are all reopening between 10 and 2pm... although Ocean Beach will have some street closures until 4. Those closures usually don't impact cross town traffic.

I love science fiction, fantasy and Stephen King. And comics from Marvel Comics.
