Port Solent is a stunning modern marina offering a lively and vibrant waterside experience. On The Boardwalk there’s a variety of restaurants and pubs to tempt you around the world – from English fare to Italian comfort food, hot and spicy Mexican, to the mouth-watering tastes of the orient.  For more casual dining there’s a 1950s style American diner to enjoy, a Pizza Express and several cafés.  For details and reservations numbers visit

If you like to shop you’ll love the eclectic mix of shops on The Boardwalk.  Here you will find jewellery and contemporary art, ski and outdoor clothing, fashion footwear, books and the UK’s biggest chandlery. Shopping aside, there’s a multiplex cinema to enjoy, a David Lloyd Health and Fitness Club and seasonal markets.

If you prefer the outdoor life, there are also walks on the open land to the south of the marina, or just a short distance away at Portchester there’s Portchester Castle, a medieval castle built within the walls of a 3rd century Roman fort.

Join me on West Wittering Beach relax soak up the sun go for a swim bring a picnic and catch up with friends old and new. Late afternoon we can head off to Port Solent where we can enjoy a nice meal in the lovely surroundings of the Marina. The Marina is off Port Way, Port Solent PO6

I will be staying at The Red Lion Hotel, London Road, Cosham PO63EE which is 1.4 miles from the Marina so a short taxi ride in. I booked a twin at a rate of £55 so if anyone is interested in a room share let me know.

Hi Rachel the only costs involved will be food and drink on the day and a cost for a B & B if you decide to stay over.
