OK ok ok. Soooo, OSHKOSH 2013, LETS GO!!!!
I don't need to say anything about this event other then we must all go. It would be good to get a solid RSVP as soon as practicable. Ill work with EAA to organize aircraft parking for our group. When you RSVP, can you please share the year and model of the aircraft you will be flying? Anything prior to 1971 will be able to secure vintage aircraft parking which is premium on the field.
I was thinking of flying out there on Tuesday and leaving to come back on Sunday. Of course this is a long trip and can be supported if there are members that are interested in being involved in this long trip.
People that wont be flying, I am sure our membership will have adequate amount of aircraft that will be flying out to the event. I will of course be in my Mooney. Anyone riding with pilots should be ready to equally share the cost of the flight evenly as specified by the FAA. A long trip like this will be an expensive burden for any aircraft owner. Anyone flying with someone should be ready to cover their fair share however, keep in mind, a private pilot can only evenly split the costs of his or her flight with those flying in his or her bird.
The flight is around 2,000 statute miles. We may want to discuss breaking the flight out and back into two days. Having just flown in from Nebraska, taking the south route, and fighting a headwind, it took about 10 hours. Thinking this flight may be a day and a half of flying out and back. Should be a great experience.

RSVP sooner then later!
