Fly-In Pancake Breakfast at Modesto Muni Airport (KMOD)

  • October 12, 2013 · 9:00 AM

Each 2nd Saturday of the month, the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), Central California Valley Squadron host a pancake breakfast and classic aircraft display fundraiser at the Modesto Airport (KMOD).

Breakfast begins at 0830 hours and ends at 1100 hours and, as far as I know, nothing has changed.  Breakfast still cost approximately $6 pp (cash and credit cards accepted) and includes: your choice of either pecan or regular pancakes; over medium or scrambled eggs; sausage or bacon; biscuit & gravy; beans; fruit salad and both, coffee and juice.

At 0900 hours, I will meet the group in the waiting area at Modesto Aviation, which is the FBO located in the West GA area.  It's right next door and to the right of the CAF hanger.

We were socked in at KOAK Until too late for the breakfast. So we went up to Sonoma Sky Park for the barbecue lunch. When you've got time to spare, go by air and always be ready with a plan "B".

With the exception of Craig, I didn't run into anyone else from the group. Had my BFR on the way to MOD followed by a great breakfast with my CFI.

For those who are making the trek tomorrow. I'll be on the ground by 0900 hrs. If you want to sit and and socialize, I'll be hanging around the West FBO (to the right of the CAF hanger) having a cigar until then. Just yell "where's Skippy," to find me if you can't see or smell the smoke.

I'll be flying in with a friend and my hired CFI. I'm doing by BFR on the flight back to TCY so, you may want to steer away of New J and SCK.

Is anyone flying into Modesto out of Sac or near to Sac with an extra seat?

PS. Since I normally depart pretty early. I just changed the FBO meet-up time from 1000 to 0900 hours.

If interested. I'll have at least one open seat for whomever. I depart from Tracy around 0800 but, I can always depart a bit early and make a pit stop at Atlantic in Stockton. Donations to the "I'm a broke airport bum" are always excepted.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
