Putting this on the calendar. I will likely be a volunteer. They need volunteers familiar with airplanes, so if you are interested, I can pass on your info. Proceeds go a non-profit called Coastside Adult Day Health Center.

Some pictures from today. Some very nice and interesting planes got to fly in. Ceilings could have been a bit higher, but plenty of blue sky to fly-in from the east.

Anyone looking for passengers and help with expenses, I and a friend can be available at around 2 P.M. on Saturday to fly from Palo Alto or San Carlos, if anyone is going that late. Alternately, we are available Sunday for the full day, though she would have to be dropped off at Monterey Airport at the end of Sunday, if anyone wants an excuse for a scenic coastal cruise after the event...

    Hi Everyone,

Here is a quick update. The event is coming up this weekend both Saturday and Sunday. I am based at KHAF, so i plan to be here both days to help out as a volunteer to help with parking airplanes. This will be my first year as a volunteer. The usual volunteer coordinator is missing this year, so I am a little unclear about how things will work out exactly. I do know they still need volunteers who are familiar with airplanes to help park them safely. Volunteers get some perks like free parking and admission with a lunch and dinner.

Also, every volunteer will be given a safety vest. A hard rule is that no one without a safety vest will be allowed in any taxiways. Again contact me to coordinate for a briefing and a safety vest. Also, there will be plenty of breaks to enjoy the show.

      Oops no ground freq.

I will be flying there with two passengers. I am waiting to find out what the temporary tower and ground frequencies will be, and times when the airport is available for takeoff and landing.

I am looking forward to volunteer for this event. However, not able to find the details. Would be glad if any one can point me in that direction. Thanks

LuAnne I just moved to Vacaville. I could use a ride to this event. I am a CFI and can help with expences. Sounds like you will be going right by the Nut Tree airport. Michael Rupert

Hi Michael. Reply back to my email and let's see what we can coordinate!

Does anyone know if there are any restrictions to fly into this event? That is, do I need to plan on arriving before a certain time and departing after a certain time? Thanks!

    April 21, 2013

    • Paul

There is, however, a temporary tower and taxiway closures...

    • Franck

Yes, if it is like the past few years, the airport will stay open and there will be a temporary tower. Check notams. The even is big and you will not be able to park on the south side of the field ( gate to the town center)
Unless , there is a precise meetup time and location , I doubt we will come across each other.

Count me on, of course! I'll volunteer as well Jae.
