We did this last month and it seems like people enjoyed it. It greatly reduces my workload during school when someone else throws an event :) Support the EAA, eat delicious pancakes, and I'll have a table sign up! Look for us at the table near the back of the hangar (I'll do my best to get it). We'll be bringing the T-6 again, most likely.
Each month, the Commemorative Air Force Central California Valley Squadron has a fundraising pancake breakfast with a display of classic aircraft. Technically, the breakfast starts at 9 and goes until 1. A 10AM show seems to work better on weekends to get the best turnout, but feel free to show whenever you'd like.
If you have empty seats, please watch the site for members looking for a ride. And, if you are a rider, be courteous and be prepared to pay half of the rental plus fuel (or whatever your share happens to be).
From their site: "Our mission is to preserve in flying condition heritage combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States in World War II and later conflicts. In accomplishing our mission we preserve, maintain, display and fly a vintage 1945 L-5 liaison airplane."
I know this doesn't have anything to do with the group, but I'm not from Oakland, Ca...anyone tell me how I can change my hometown location?? "
Lots of people, not many airplanes due to weather. Overcast 3-6K right at the freezing level, definitely an IFR day. Missed you guys, see you next time!
I ran into Stuart Smith at Modesto and had breakfast. Lots of people and it was nice to see Stuart and talk about our Alaska Trip in 2009. Stuart gave me an update on his acting jobs, very impressive.
Gerald, out of habit I almost chased you down the runway on takeoff then I remembered we weren't formation flying across Alaska this time. Great to see you and give my best to your family. Tracey and Stevie are sorry they missed you.
Sorry this is the same day as an event at Gnoss and in addition I have my very first taildragger lesson. Have fun!
