Lodi Airport Cafe, then walk to tour Jump Facility & Taxidermists

Plan your home base departure time to arrive at Lodi Airport in time to meetup with the rest of us and order your lunch at 12 Noon. After lunch, we'll walk nearby on the airfield to tour the (hopefully active when we get there) Jump Facility. Then we'll walk a little further on the field to peek in the window or maybe even get to go inside an office that's filled with exotic animal heads hanging on the walls.

100LL fuel available on field. Right-hand traffic pattern due to skydiving activity - please confirm that.

This is a VFR weather event - Heavy rain or wind postpones to a future date to be determined.

I'm also inviting my artist meetup group to join us - they'll be bringing their canvases and paints or sketchbooks along - maybe some of them will draw a quick pic of your plane if you ask them.  About five of them are expected to join us.

Plane-less pilots and passengers (like myself) are welcome to drive in and join us. ~ Martha, the event host for this one.

Haha. Happy you passed your bfr. After ten or fifteen of them they get pretty easy. :) I had an engine failure 100ft after takeoff today. Total pain in the ass. Got it down though and didn't kill anyone on the crash in. :) we also had a 30 kt crosswind. Anyways.hope everyone had a great time today.lets get the next event lined up asap.

Btw, this proves to anyone flying retracts what I've been saying for at least 15 years... Take your time retracting your wheels after takeoff. There is a lot going on in the cockpit during takeoff and you lose all performance on takeoff should your chatterbox fail on you. No need to add gear to the concern. Positive rate of climb, steady thrust, and 300 to 500ft of altitude before retraction. Don't try to turn, you just can't do it, fly straight, but keep her flying. Pitch is all you have and at 300ft, heavy, low and slow, be ready for some metal on whatever action. We just don't have an opportunity to practice this at all but it will happen, of course unless you fly a turboprop!!!! Stay safe team.

Guys. I can't make this one. I'm stuck in Omaha waiting for the annual to be completed. Had to replace the transponder and the altimeter in the Mooney. Can't wait to bring the Birdie out to California!!! Hopefully we will fly out tomorrow and it's an 11 hour flight back so I'll probably have to miss this one. I'm so sorry.

Hey. all, heads up - Jo Ann, the owner of the Lodi Cafe says she doesn't accept any credit cards. She will accept cash, checks and gold. Her husband runs the other part of the airport biz and he has the office with all the animals on the wall. Jo Ann said we will get to go inside it.

If this meetup in Lodi goes well, I'll plan another one in June for all of you (hopefully) to fly in to Franklin Field (10 miles west of Lodi) and get the artists to drive all of you pilots to Al the Wops in historic Locke.

Also im thinking ill fly into san carlos to pickup Sam and whoever else wants to go. We can have breakfast at the airport cafe and then head north. How about we all meet there and then fly north after breakfast?

Shall we all meet somewhere first and the fly in a line or formation to the event? Depending on how many birds we have going, over 15, we may want to coordinate arrival time and put someone on point for traffic alert on ctaf. Thoughts?
