The night version of our Writer’s Cafe...
Formulated so that the contributions, questions, insights & energy each writer brings to the table drive 'ownership' at the Café. We pair craft and industry pointers with peer review critiques and more seasoned reads (for those who know their craft but want to test audience response). And, as we peer over each other’s shoulders into a writer’s life, aha moments abound. Find the upcoming meeting’s topic in the comment section, then RSVP to join us every other Thursday, 7:00 p.m. 'til 9.
Manuscripts: either post here at 10 Days Before or bring in a hard copy. Writers read a sample aloud from the work prior to critique. Participation is optional: writers welcome with or without manuscripts.
New additions to the Café
· Check-in – report one item you’ve done as a writer since the previous meeting (creative interpretation welcomed)
· Reading into Our Genre - bring a sample from a professional writer you're reading and report how it impacts (or reveals) your work
@Shannon No it doesn't :) If you're uploading a screenplay please let us know what kind of feedback you're looking for. It will help guide member critiques so that they are helpful to you.
DONT LIKE MEETINGS ARE SO LATE AND DOWTOWN,MAYBE MORE WOULD SHOW IF THIS WAS DIFERENT.
Don't forget to upload your submissions ahead of time and label them with the meetup date. Members give their best feedback when they've had a chance to look at your work before hand :) I look forward to meeting everyone.
It's kind of late notice, but i'm uploading something short. Thanks!Lesley
Hey, sorry it wasn't there. I actually got to the location but about spent half an hour looking for parking before I finally gave up. Obviously I still don't know Atlanta very well. Hopefully I can make the next one.
OMG, so sorry to hear that Nathan.
There is a parking deck right next to Jason's Deli and the bottom portion is free for Jason's Deli patrons. I'm not sure which direction you were coming from, but if you were headed eastbound on 10th street the parking garage would have been on your left (just after passing Jason's Deli) and coming westbound the garage would have been on your right just before Jason's. Hope to see you next time.
Great workshop ladies. Thank you to Lesley, Katina, DeShawn and newbie Trina. I felt special being the only dude there...lol. I left feeling very motivated and inspired by the good work I read and heard tonight, and the fun we had. Cheers!
Weird, I didn't see a parking deck anywhere. Maybe my GPS had the address wrong or something, because I didn't see Jason's Deli either. Is it basically right next to Piedmont Park? Because that's where I was.
No worries. I'll find it eventually. I may just drive back to prove to myself it's there and I haven't gone insane.
Does it matter if we're working on a novel or a screenplay?
