Introduction
I am a budding writer and need to be in the company of other like minded creative individuals who appreciate the written word. I am employed by the CDC as a Public Health Advisor where I work in the Division of HIV and AIDS.
We have all types of writers in our group! What kind of writing do you do? (Poems, Fiction, Non-fiction, Articles, Blogs, etc.)
I like to write poetry and short stories. Currently I have been struggling with a novel that I have been trying to get out of me over the past year. In addition to creative writing, I do quite a bit of technical writing as a public health advisor for the Division of HIV/AIDS at the CDC.
Some days it's tough to stick with it... what motivates you to keep writing?
The voices in my head motivate me to write. And of course I do have family and friends who cheer me on, but I could use the support of this group to help me to further develop my skills.
Have you ever been published before, or are you just getting started in the writing world?
I self published a book of short stories, poems and monolouges called HIGH TEA. I have also appeared as second or third author on peer reviewed articles on HIV/AIDS and Correctional Health Care.
To help us keep our group informative and useful, please tell us what do you hope to gain from joining our group?
I hope that just being around a group of fellow artist will help keep me stimulated as well as provide me with some technical guidance on how to craft a well written story.

Thank you Asa. Been a member just a little-bit longer than you. The meetings are stimulating. I've met some wonderful artists through it (even though briefly). Like you, I struggle with the discipline. I find the meetings very motivating and I always leave inspired.
