I've been a blogger since 2000, and in 2001, my humble little journal got a little bigger through participating in an online web contest called SurvivorBlog. I'm currently working on fundraising for my first poetry anthology, "Ophelia's Wayward Muse", and have about half a novel sitting on computer. By day, I telecommute for a company in New Orleans, writing SEO-enhanced website copy, and work writing content for PetHub, a community for pet lovers. I'm active in the literary community here in ATL, and have a background in opera and musical theatre, so am never shy about communicating, performing, and collaborating. :)
Most of all, I like getting paid. :P Secondly, I feel like writing is a way for the world to hear my voice. Most of my experience writing is as a poet, blogger, and autobiographical essayist, but I'd love to publish a novel sometime soon. I don't always do well being the most goal-oriented person, but I have some aspirations. ;)
I've been published, but would love to take my writing to the next level.
I'm hoping to meet some like-minded people for collaboration and criticism. I'm also looking to meet other artistic folks and expand my circle of friends, since I work from home all day, and would love to know some people in similar situations.
Hi there! I'm Alayna, a professional freelance writer by day who's an event planner, creative writer, poet, artist, blogger, and reality TV junkie by night. I'm the Organizer for the Atlanta New In Town Meetup, and a participant with Write Club ATL.
