My name is Cynthia Coles and I have been working on my memoir for the past 3 years. It chronicles my earlier life as a black female geek, before Urkel.
I write poems and memoir. I will be starting a blog this year.
I like to go to art galleries and museums. That can usually get my creative juices flowing.
I was a writer and editor on my college paper and I write technical documentation on the job. But I am just getting into creative writing, for fun.
I need the feedback and critique. I would expect honesty, but not bitchy criticism.
I used to go to a writer's group that disbanded. Hence, I am looking for a new forum. I do attend Cliterati at Charis fairly regularly for open poetry readings.

Hi there,
I drove down to Florida last years for the Discovery (alleged) last launch. It was cancelled the day I arrived and I missed it, bummer! Did you get to see any launches?
Hi, I am wondering where you meet and what is the topic you are studying. I would like to attend home groups in the area. I certainly will be the older one in the group...lots and lots of life experience.
Blessing
Glenda
It was good to see you yesterday!
Very nice meeting you Cynthia! You have an infectious positive energy around you! Cheers :)
Cynthia, let me offer a long-overdue welcome to you. We were glad to meet you last month and look forward to more geektastic events in the future. I know there's a huge interest in the book swap idea (sounds like you've got lots of great tomes) and many are intrigued by the ROCKY HORROR idea. We'll figure something out soon. That's AWESOME that you're working on a graphic novel memoir--are you the illustrator as well? Look forward to seeing you soon.
hey cyn! Check your calendar, and let me know which friday you think we could co-host martinis and imax. Arabia is on now thru 7-29, and ride around the world is on thru 6-28ish. after, we can either get food or do rocky horror. ciao!
Thanks for the info. I'm sure you'll be accepted, and maybe you and I can co-host the idea, if not a whole lot of folks are up for it.
Good to see you on meetup! Thanks for coming to the Shindig.
