I have a freebie to offer my fellow #140conf at the LA meetup - if you work for or with a 501c3 nonprofit and need to issue a press release by 6/30, I will put it over PR Web for you for free ($380 on their site) No strings attached, I just love helping causes. You have to write it though! You must be attending this 5/10 meetup too - cannot extend this to everyone out there. I run a cause marketing agency and do the big charity auctions you may see on eBay. Hey everyone! I was telling Sukhraj the other day that when I do events on the Sunset Strip I normally park at the 9000 bldg (it is in big blue numbers), there is also a small lot right next to that one as well. The cost runs between $7-$15 depending on the night, but because it is Monday night which is Steel Panther at The Key Club, it will likely be crowded & cost between $10-$15. If you get to town early enough you can park in the Rainbow or Roxy parking lot for $7, but it is very small.

Very much enjoyed the presentations especially by @SimonMainwaring, @angelashelton @krupali Do wish I had more time to say hello to so many wonderful peeps at Comedy Club where it was well lit, easy to talk. Thanks for the wifi! Thank you to @JeffPulver and @EricGreenspan for keeping this going. Note to self for next time - if the after-party venue doesn't have food, make sure to check with the cool kids to see where they are going next OR FourSquare. They will be at a venue with food.

Great talks by @krupali and @angelashelton. So nice to finally meet @jessicagottlieb, see @jeffrago from a distance, and dine with so many others. I may just get into this foursquare thing yet! It's a weird little community, but it's a community. For someone who is fascinated by community and how to create and engage one, I feel honored to have been so quickly invited in. #grateful

WOW what a blast & great tweeps! Kudos to Eric and the sponsors and @jeffpulver for putting on such a great event. Loved all the speakers and great networking, too. For me the most moving and exciting part was the central focus on using your voice in social media to make a difference. We even got to see it in action right before our eye w/ @krupali. LOVED it!!

I agree with R. Jean Roth more netlinging (mingling & networking) would have been better viper room was too small and no food. I enjoyed the Comedy Store wish we didn't have to leave there great venue with lots of room

I'd be interested to get specific insights around how emerging prestige brands are successfully using social media. Not just broadcasting latest promotions or product launches, but creating loyal evangelists and customers. Higher price points and merchandise that may require more of a brand experience adds a different level of complexity than say the latest new age vitamin loaded drink or free cup o joe for becoming a fan. Anyone have some good cases to refer or review? Many tx! @birdsofafeather

Lots of fun and some VERY interesting speakers. A bit dark both at The Comedy Club and The Viper Room, but it was wonderful to meet in person some of the people I follow. Thanks for the chance to do this again; real life meets the Twitter world - it's great!

Great to connect with a lot of my twitter buddies in real life. Good times!
  • Jacob Swodeck
I loved meeting the people I interact with on twitter, I loved the venue, I loved the idea of being drawn through technology to each other. My dislikes, as a speaker, I felt the event was a little coffee shop poetry reading-ish, needed more energy, transitions, balance between heart grabbing personal stories and vision for the future of technology. If I hear the phrase "paradigm shift" in reference to social media again I may puke :) (j/k) A little bit too much preaching to the choir. We are all already sm believers. What's next, dazzle us a little. Anyway, all in all I would come back to another one. At my events, I always appreciate honest feedback. Oh, and the Viper Room was fun, but not conducive to being social (speaking to one another). Thanks.
  • Erik Williams
An inspiring preview of what's to come...and why it's important.
  • Robert Hays
Its was nice to meet more people in the "real-time web" community. As always, the speakers were strong, confident and had meaningful things to say. Its nice to attend a "technical" event where technology sits in the backseat to it's uses.
