Start at the Missouri Gulch TH and climb to 13,320ft Elkhead Pass, a gentler approach with great views of seldom seen Upper Missouri Gulch and with far less people than the switchbacks up Mt Belford. From Elkhead Pass it is 1.3 mi to Oxford's Summit via the saddle between Oxford & Belford. We then return back over Mt Belford so you get both peaks. This route is .8mi longer than the traditional route 90% of people use to climb Belford-Oxford. (This route is 10.6 mi RT per Gerry Roach.)
Leave Denver Friday June 14th at 5:30PM from the Wooley Mammoth lot, drive to the TH North of Buena Vista, camp and then and start the climb around 4AM on Saturday, June 15th. Return to Denver on Saturday afternoon.
