The staff of Skydive Delmarva is professional and friendly. I felt safe during my jumps there.
Your chance of fatality during the tandem is about the same as your chance of fatality driving to and from the dropzone.
Math for fatality driving to/from dropzone:
(32367 deaths/year)/(3.03*(10^12) miles/year) * 212 miles =[masked] deaths/(roundtrip between Catonsville and Skydive Delmarva) Math for fatality for driving 1 year (assuming you drive 10,000 miles per year):
(32367 deaths/year)/(3.03*(10^12) miles/year) * 10,000 miles =[masked] deaths/year Math for fatality during tandem:
(0.003 deaths)/(1000 jumps) =[masked] deaths/(tandem jump) To summarize, you are as likely to die on the road to and from the dropzone as you are at the dropzone. Put another way, you are 35 times more likely to die on the road than the risk you are taking jumping once this year!
( Pease note: We are a not-for-profit Meetup group! )
Some people drift through their entire life. They do it one day at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time. It happens so gradually they are unaware of how their lives are slipping away until it's too late. The time to be happy is now, regardless of any circumstances or beliefs, it is your birth right to be free and happy in every moment.
Here we maximize every moment of our existence and live our life to the fullest. This group is here to remind us of all the things we want to achieve in our time here, so that instead of pandering our time in distractions, we are directing it fully toward what matters to us... What is it you want to accomplish with your time here???...Nothing is too simple or too far fetched.
Here is just a short list of items from members of this group to get us started.... feel free to add your own to this page (YES! - you can edit this page!). Feel free to mark them done after you've completed them. Can we hit 1000 ...?
