Orange Audubon Society’s 36th annual Kit and Sidney Chertok Florida Native Nature Photography Contest has an entry deadline of April 30, 2024 (this is an extended deadline).
The contest's mission is to promote interest and concern in native fauna and flora of Florida and to encourage nature photography. So no human-made elements can be in your photos, just Florida nature. If you make a mistake, and your bird or other animal is sitting on a non-native plant, the screening committee will catch that and you will be notified to resubmit at not additional cost.
A maximum of 5 images can be submitted per person.
There are three contest divisions:
NOVICE: For new and less experienced amateur photo hobbyists. Entry fee is $5 per image for Audubon members; $10 per image for Non-Audubon members. Non-members can join Orange Audubon while entering, using the 2024 Adult Chertok Registration Form linked below.
ADVANCED: For experienced photographers who have practiced and honed their skills over time. Advanced amateurs and professionals are both welcome. The Advanced Category entry fee is $5 per image for Audubon members; $10 per image for Non-Audubon members. Non-members can join Orange Audubon while entering, using the 2024 Adult Chertok Registration Form linked below.
YOUTH: For participants 17 years of age or younger at time of entry. The Youth category entry fee is $2 per image for Audubon members, $4 per image for non-Audubon members. Non-members can join Orange Audubon while entering, using the 2024 Youth Chertok Registration Form linked below.
