new cycling club - sandymount

Want to join us for a leisure cycle on Saturday mornings. We normally head out from 2 Wheels Cycle shop on Sandymount Green. Meet up at 9:45 to head out at 10:00 sharp.

The cycle is open to all however you must be comfortable at tackling distances from 50 - 100 km. The pace will be determined by the group on the day but is usually 20 kph +. Previous trips have taken in Lucan, Malahide, Howth and Glencullen to name but a few and this is a great opportunity to see the sights of Dublin and Wicklow and get some exercise.

It is also a great chance prepare for some of next years events such as the Wicklow 100/200 or even further afield the Ring of Kerry.

Further details are posted to the 2 wheels Facebook page in advance of the cycle. The only rule is that you must wear a helmet, so sorry in advance, no helmet no cycle. After that you are advised to come prepared with a spare tube, pump, water, light snack and cash for emergencies. All the accessories can be purchased in 2 Wheels if required. And off course being Ireland you should always prepare for the weather.

Hi all, I'm still heading out so see you there. Looks like it will be damp and cool so wrap up and remember your gloves.
I was thinking of heading to Bray over Killiney hill and then on to Enniskerry. From there we will head back via kilternan and down to Sandyford and back home. This will be about 40 - 50 km with the only challenging climb being Killiney. We should be home by 1.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
