Meet in the Hamburg Reservoir parking lot, by the yellow metal road gate.
Please be punctual and know your way to the place before that morning, as I won't be taking "I'm lost, please wait for me" calls and texts, (seems to happen for every hike...) haha. We meet at 10:45am and begin the hike at 11:00am. It's about a 1-1/2 to 2 hr drive from Central NJ, mostly on Route 78, so keep the drive time issue in mind when you're planning your drive. Also, I didn't see any bathrooms on my hike, so stop for a bathroom break before you arrive, or be prepared to use nature's restroom.
The trail is steep uphill and rocky for the 1st half of the hike. This section includes a segment of the Appalachian Trail. It will take us about 5 hrs, including a couple breaks, and lunch (whatever you pack for yourself) at the top of the mountain. Bring plenty of water.
Remind me to do a head count before we start, since this is a longer hike and we don't want anyone getting separated from the group. Maybe we can use the Buddy System. This hike is weather dependent, so if the forecast is questionable then check the event page that morning for a possible cancellation.
