Staged radio play: "The Hound of the Baskervilles" then maybe Hailey's Harp Pub

$10 cash for admission.  You can't park at the Old Franklin School, but there is plenty of street parking in the area.  After the play maybe we can hit Hailey's Harp & Pub.

A man’s unexplained death. A fearsome family legend. A haunting howl. Don't miss Raconteur Radio's most thrilling production yet! "Beware the moor in those dark hours when evil is exalted,” the superstitious denizens of Devonshire caution the good detective. But the hunt is on as Holmes and Watson, in their most terrifying case, ignore the warnings and search for their four-legged suspect, hoping the hound proves, when all is said and done, to be more delusion than demon.8 PM, Sat. June 14 @ The Old Franklin School in MetuchenWith Carlyle Owens, Michael Jarmus, and Laurence Mintz. Theatrical Lighting! Period Costumes! Extensive Sound Effects!$10 at the door.

I've been to a couple Raconteur Radio events and it's a fun change of pace to watch the actors from a few feet away, and also watch them re-enact 1930s/1940s product advertisements. The place tends to fill fairly quickly so let's arrive at 7:30pm.

I have an active imagination so i could actually envision all the settings of the play and the sound effects were awesome. This was just a unique experience, probably wouldve never done if it wasnt for the group.

It was a unique experience, and the actors were skilled. The wine was a nice touch, and the schoolhouse was super cool.

Manuel, it's not really like a traditional play if that's what you're looking for ... they are performing in the style of a 1930s "radio play" so the visual backdrops and physical action are minimal... rather they are costumed and "voice acting" (like in an old radio studio) along with sound effects and lighting, and sometimes a narrator as well.

I'm more interested in seeing the actors perform live rather than just the visual effects. The school is small so we'll definetely have a good view of the actors, just have to be there early to get the best seat!

The last time I went to a play was when I was in HS, time to make up for that one and what better place than the historic old franklin school!! Thank you for letting me know about the event, James!!!

Sounds like fun :) Got one question - is this an outdoor play or an indoor and if it's outdoor do i need to bring a chair. I go to the Plays in the park in Edison where you bring your own chairs and the open air theater near lambertville where there's seating; and since it's lovely outside now just wondering the situation ;)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
