Fright & Fantasy Halloween Bash! @ La Grange (Deep Ellum)

Remember when you were a kid and you couldn't wait for Halloween? All the days and nights picking out a costume...waiting to go trick or treating.  Then...all the candy. candy, candy, candy! For that one night we all got to be whoever we wanted to be....and then we grew up. Who says we can't still be whoever and do whatever we want for a night? And that's exactly what we'd like you all to do! Outside of New Years Eve, Halloween is the party night of the year; and we all owe it to ourselves to have an awesome, hip and fun night. We want to invite you all to The Fright and Fantasy Halloween Bash at LaGrange in Deep Ellum!!!!

(in conjunction with Dallas Young Professionals (DYP)!!!!

Voted Best Bar in Dallas By the Dallas Observer 2008

LaGrange is founded on a love for all things Texas. The concept is easy, real Texas music, a swanky yet relaxed atmosphere, and killer service...our friend Noah calls it "Swanky-tonk".

Throw in a retro jukebox, reasonably priced drinks, honkin' sound system and Deep Ellum's largest patio and there you have it, the LaGrange experience.

Mosey in and enjoy one of a kind works from local craftsmen, musicians and artists.

As you make your way to the bar you'll find yourself face to face with glowing deer trophies by local artist Ed Ruiz from deer molds picked up in LaGrange.

Here at LaGrange our motto is "good for all night" so whether you belly up to the centuries old mesquite tree bar top for a Lone Star or sip on one of our Signature Texas Cocktails in the only "living room" on Elm Street, we look forward to surprising you.

From live music, to movie night every Wednesday, to private parties, LaGrange is an essential part of the Elm Street revitalization effort. Join us and our neighbors on the 2700 block as we bring you a bigger and better Deep Ellum experience.

THE FACILITY: 3 VENUES IN ONE

VERSATILITY AT IT’S FINEST (MAIN ROOM, CAFE & PATIO)

Parking information: Parking lot rates can vary from ($5 to $8+).

For more information on La Grange please visit: http://lagrangedallas.com/

So hopefully you all can see this is a great place to have landed. There will be a small cover charge ($5) to cover La Grange's expenses (Sound Guy, Security, etc) since they are letting us use their venue on a very sought after night. You can pay the cover online here (http://prekindle.com/promo/id/22562449555374269). The entire establishment is open to us. We do not have to stay in one room. We will not impose a limit since people will likely come and go at different times. And it will still be open to their regular guests. I will also get a list of the parking lots in the area shortly.

There will be drink specials, and there will be no minimum per person on food or beverage. Due to circumstances out of our control, the restaurant portion of LaGrange (Rock and Roll Tacos) is no longer open. We will still be able to use that space for the party, but we've had to tweak the food portion of this event. Because of this last minute change on the venue's part, they've graciously supplied us with a round of pizzas(Cheese, Meat and Veggie) at 2 hour intervals throughout the night. They will be available at 8:30PM, 10:30PM and 12:30 PM. This is AT NO CHARGE to you. We will be distributing tokens to those who want to eat. We just ask you to respect others when doing so, so everyone who wants to eat can. In addition, there are several restaurants close by that are within a short walk (Twisted Root, The Angry Dog and Cafe Brazil are very close). We are sorry for this inconvenience, but hope this will in no way affect your fun!!!!!

$3 Draft Special and $4 Delicious *ucker (Grape Kamikaze)

Music Curators & Gem Selectors for the night: DJ KEY (Key J) and DJ ShaktHe (Naveen G) will be rotating as our DJs, playing a mix of Throwbacks, Classics, Gems, Electro-house, Top 40, etc. There will be something for everyone! There maybe a couple surprises mixed in too.

Bill will be hosting the costume contest and also will be your main host, along with Mandi, Matthew, Key and Naveen. Since this party is in conjunction with several other meetups, please contact the host of the meetup you are representing if you have any questions or concerns. BTW, we are looking for 4 or 5 people to help out as hosts. We anticipate this will be a large event, and could use a few more hosts who can balance their fun with the groups. If you're interested please contact Bill for further info.

As part of the fun there will be a costume contest. Awards will include Scariest Costume, Sexiest Costume and Most Original/Creative Costume. Everyone is up for these, no need to enter. We will be looking around all night picking costumes and letting the audience decide the winners later in the evening. While we can't guarantee a big cash prize(no we can....there's no big cash prize), you get bragging rights over everyone else.

Please everyone, this IS a Halloween party; please be sure to come in costume...you'll probably get some grief if you don't!!LOL!! We are looking forward to this event so much, and want you all to come out, bring your friends. This should be the party

I (I being Bill) have got my completed costume right now, so I’ll tell you how to find me. I will be dressed as the 11th Doctor, from the long running BBC America TV series Doctor Who. For all you geeks out there, you’ll know what to look for. For the rest…tweed jacket, suspenders, and a bow tie.

Bow ties are cool….

Similar to this, without all that hair!!

The rest of the hosts will let you know what they're wearing as they get theirs finished!

If you need anything please let us know.

Thanks,

Bill and all the hosts!

      You're welcome:)

      September 26, 2012

  • Laura

Just kidding, just read the info! Sorry.

    September 26, 2012

    • Key J

Not a problem. There will be a link up there shortly to pay online. There will be a convenience fee of $.99 for paying online.

      September 26, 2012

    • Bill

If you want as well, you can go directly to their website and goto upcoming events (which is the link Key's referring to) and it is already there.

      September 26, 2012

  • Laura

Is there a cover charge at the door? If so how much?

    September 26, 2012

    • Bill

Laura, it should be the same $5 as online, without the surcharge. If I'm wrong about that, I'll definatly let everyone know. Since it will probably be a packed event I would get it online(since it's $1 surcharge). But it is entirely up to you:)

      September 26, 2012

  • James B

Hey Key, I couldn't reply to your email. Yes, I will take pictures at the event.

    September 14, 2012

    • Key J

gimme a buzz at[masked] so that I can fill you in on what we are looking for.

      September 15, 2012

  • ken

is there gonna be enough space?

    September 15, 2012

    • Bill

Yes, there will be. That was one of the biggest selling points. It can fit 250/325 people. And people will be coming and going all night. It will be crowded, don't think it won't be though..

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
