Owl Prowl Night Hike @ Heard Museum (SOLD OUT - GREAT EVENT!)

HEARD MUSEUM (<--- LINK): Reservations & PAYMENT are required for this annual event sell out early each year. See a live owl presentation and participate in a guided night hike on our sanctuary trails and experience nature in a whole new way.

$20 for non-museum members, $17 museum members.

You can reserve your spot here but this does NOT guarantee your spot if you do not pay by going to this link (CLICK HERE). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PURCHASING YOUR TICKET NOW! If you decide to RSVP, then later cancel, please remove yourself from the RSVP list here in Meetup.

If you're looking for an evening outside staring at the stars, walking through the meadow, thickness of trees, and around ponds, then come hike with me along with a Heard Museum tour guide, Saturday @ 6:30pm sharp. I did this back in April 2012 and it was great to be around other nature enthusiasts.

We didn't get to see during the first half of the tour any noticeable wildlife (though we did hear in the distance), we got to see an some pretty amazing rescued animals such as capybaras, fox, and even a very rare and precious albino raccoon. :) You may even get to see some pretty large dinosaurs!!!

Although this hike is great for all children of all ages, it's best to leave the little ones at home. 13 yrs and older are welcome. :)

All night hikes depart from the main building. Closed toed shoes, long pants, jacket (dependent on weather) and bug spray are recommended. Bring a flashlight with a red lens on it to protect your night vision while looking for nocturnal animals! Participants will be outdoors for at least an hour.

And, the dinosaur exhibit ended February 3. But they'll be back in September!

Also, the event is SOLD OUT, so if you didn't already purchase a ticket through the Heard, there are no additional spaces left. Thanks!

FYI -- I asked about weather issues. Here is the response: "At this time I am being told that the owl presentation will go on rain or shine, if it is storming badly they will set a rain date for the guided trail and every one who attends the owl prowl will be invited to the rain date. Hope this helps!"

I hope it's not rainy...we've been waiting for this day for like 3 months! LOL!!

Thank you Monica for posting this information. I just was thinking that yesterday. The museum is very good about giving out "rain checks" (ha). I don't want to miss the owl presentation!

I signed up and bought two tickets, and now I can't go. Does anyone want to buy one or both from me? I think they were $20 each. Let me know...they are easy to transfer. If anyone is interested, please email me at [masked]

I bought my ticket! Also, if anyone is interested -- I'm hosting a meetup early Sunday 1/13 (Dallas Young Professionals) at White Rock Lake, for a bird watching adventure led by Audubon Dallas!

Signed up and snagged a ticket, looking forward to wandering around and see some cool stuff!

Greatness! We are joining groups with the DFW Bucket list and there are only 100 tickets the museum sells. So the sooner everyone purchases their tickets the better.
