For this month the event is going to be on the first saturday instead of 1st friday due to the Lines Dance Studio crew doing a performance in Seattle on friday. I hope you join us!

9pm-9:30pm beginners salsa lesson
9:30pm-12am?? open practice to music.

Lines Dance Studio's website:

HOW TO FIND LINES DANCE STUDIO/PARKING: It's inside the building with the state farm sign *see picture in link below*

There's street parking and you can park behind the state farm building in the u.s. bank parking lot where there is plenty of parking available.

If you take public transportation it's only like 2 blocks from the max station.

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! However do remember you are going to be getting a good workout and will be sweating.

Below are some recommendations.

WHAT KIND OF SHOES TO WEAR: Any shoe with a flat sole.

Good shoes for dancing for ladies: Heels is the norm (they help with your spinning). Avoid high heels if you're a beginner (try with 1 or 2 inches then go higher as you get better in your dancing). If you are interested in dancing shoes speak to instructor Anita for advice.

Good shoes for dancing for guys: Any shoe with a flat sole, dress shoes for guys (non-rubber sole if possible preferably leather sole)

Bad shoes for dancing: sneakers, tennis shoes, flip flops, bowling shoes.

WATER: You might need it. Bring your own or you can buy bottled water there for 50c

GUM: Remember you'll probably be dancing with someone so be courteous.

YOUR SMILE: Nobody likes to dance with a poker face. Show your smile while dancing! Remember dancing is fun, dancing is happiness, be happy!

I was asked to clarify about the lesson that starts at 7:30pm. It's a beginners & intermediate lesson so no matter what your skill level you can benefit from it. If you are new to dancing or feel you have no "rhythm" you should definitely take it as it will help you work those muscles and help you build your dance muscle memory. I hope you join us!

Hey everyone. Just a reminder Westside Dance Practice Night is moving to 1st saturday just for the month of march (the Lines Dance Studio crew is performing in Seattle on 1st friday so the studio will be closed). The regular salsa class at the studio on fridays at 7:30pm will be held that saturday from 7:30pm-9pm ($15). So if you want to get extra practice join us for the lesson at 7:30 I'll be there. :)
