Sunday Morning Hike to Angel's Rest (weather permitting)

Join us Sunday, July 28th for a hike to Angel's Rest in the Columbia River Gorge (http://www.portlandhikersfieldguide.org/wiki/Angel's_Rest).

We'll meet up at the Starbucks in Hollywood (1633 NE 39th Ave, Portland, OR 97232) at 9:30am. At the Starbucks, we'll coordinate drivers and will try to carpool as much as possible to save on money and gas. If you don't have a car and would like to come, send me a message and I'll try to make sure that you'll have a spot. I'll have room for 3 more people in mine.

From there, it's a short, 30 minute drive to the trail head. It you haven't done this hike before, the view from the top is breathtaking. The hike itself is 4.8 miles round trip and could be classified as moderate to difficult (it can get steep). We'll take a leisurely pace and will stop along the way for pictures and to catch our breath. Make sure you bring plenty of water. We'll have lunch at the top, so bring something to eat as well. The entire trip will take about 4-5 hours, and we should have everybody back in town by 2:30pm.

If it looks like the weather is going to be bad, I'll see how everybody is feeling and maybe we'll reschedule.

I hope to see you out there! Call me at[masked] if you have any questions!

My husband and I would love to go, but we don't have a car. I guess we'll just show up and see if we can ride with somebody (we can provide some gas money) :)

    Hey Everybody,

It looks like we're going to have great weather tomorrow! We're going to try to leave the Starbucks as soon as possible, so please be on time. If you're running late, feel free to call or text me at[masked]-9685.

Also, I have been made aware that some cars have been broken into recently at the parking lot near the trail head. It's a pretty popular hike, and I have been many times without my car being vandalized, but just in case, DO NOT BRING ANY VALUABLES THAT YOU PLAN TO LEAVE IN YOUR CAR. It would be a huge bummer if we had an incident. Again, if you have any questions, call or text me. See you tomorrow!

don't worry, there will be enough cars for ll of us, I've never seen anyone not getting a ride on meetup hikes.

Kinda goofed and thought it was this Sunday...regardless, went anyway. Amazing views. One word of caution, my car and another car near mine were broken into. My own fault for leaving my cell on the dash, but cop did say there have been a rash of break-ins in the area. Leave valuables and home and lock stuff in the trunk while hiking.

Even having to replace my window and get a new cell phone views were #worthit!
