Welcome to the group. This is not quite the Pacific Northwest, but we have great tidal rivers here. Meetups often launch from Fountainhead Regional Park, Occoquan Regional Park, Belle Haven Marina, and Mason Neck State Park. You can rent kayaks from these places and try out the kayaks of other paddlers and see what you like.
