The Gallery is open late on Tuesday and you can pay whatever you like! All four floors of the gallery will be open, with the following featured exhibits:
-Lawren Harris, Canadian Visionary -A Terrible Beauty, Edward Burtynsky -Scorned: Emily Carr
If you haven't had a chance to see Burtynsky's previous collections such as Manufactured Landscapes or Water, this is a great chance to see a mini retropsective of one of the great Canadian photographic artists.
The Lawren Harris collection is really stunning, and he is one of the founding members of the Group of Seven. Presented 'in dialogue' with the Burtynsky exhibit, the Emily Carr selections are a provocative contrast and consist of paintings which were not included in the previous 'Deep Forest' exhibit. We will be meeting at the Gallery Cafe (entrance via the stairs next to the admissions desk in the Gallery lobby) at 7PM. Afterwards we will be socializing with food and drink at the Purple Olive Grill (850 Thurlow St).
I will also be organizing a meetup for the FUSE party at the Gallery on April 25th, when the gallery is open until the wee hours complete with live performances, a dance floor and adult beverages!
