The Dark Show (Stand up comedy at its Darkest) (Best)

Hey Meet up ! This is going to be ton's of fun ! I hope to see everyone out for some cheap drinks and a ton of laughs !! see you all at Tavern

If you're easily offended, get lost. If you're a conservative douche, not for you. If you're a liberal who gets offended for the sake of being offended, go away.

In the vein of: Doug Stanhope, Stewart Lee, George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Jim Jeffries, Lenny Bruce, Dick Gregory, Richard Pryor and all the other wonderful "tell it like it is" comedians, we bring you an evening of dark and twisted comedy. This is a show about saying what we think, how we think it. Uncensored. Raw. A celebration of the art of stand up comedy. It's a show to visit all the dark places and let the demons out. Odds are good there will probably be something you won't like but there will probably be lots you will. It's a roll of the dice. Sort of a "come at your own risk" show. You have been warned. Still wanna come? Good. This show brings together some wonderfully dark comedic minds in a forum where nothing is off limits. Anything can and will be said in the name of humour and insight. If you like the sound of this then come down on May 6th and watch some of Vancouver's finest comedy minds bend the rules and bring you some real, old school, bare knuckle stand up. Our host:

Kyle Jones
Smooth and conversational but don't let his nice guy smile and relaxed demeanour fool you. Kyle usually has more drugs in him than Hunter S Thompson's biography. A man of some life experience indeed and always great with a story, If his act itself doesn't ruffle people's feathers his crowd work usually covers the bases. With Guests:

Devin Alexander
New to the scene but with a noticeable edge, it's gonna be great to see him stretch out his dark side.

Chris Griffin
Very smart with an existential twist. Chris is one of the most welcome new additions to Vancouver's comedy scene. From Calgary, he came West to hone his craft. A truly unique and magnetic performer Chris brings a fresh take to the stage and does so with inventive writing and charismatic delivery. A welcome addition indeed. Brett Martin
What do you get when you mix great writing, intense delivery and massive experience? You get a very rare comic indeed. Brett Martin is a dominant presence on a stand up stage to say the least. Sharp writing, great delivery and a somewhat twisted view of the world distinguish Martin from the pack. Equally at home in dirt bars or full theatres Brett brings a level of experience and down right funny you need to be a part of. Dylan Rhymer
Look up underappreciated in the stand up comedy dictionary and you'll likely see Dylan Rhymer's picture. True to his punk rock roots Dylan has been an "under the radar" comedy genius in Canada for years. He's simply put; one of the most intelligent and innovative comedians working right now. Hands down. His lack of deserved mainstream profile is almost exclusively due to his unwillingness to compromise his extraordinary vision. Do yourself a favour and see Dylan Rhymer do stand up comedy before he's finally had enough of us all and wanders off into the woods to live like a hermit. Headliner:

Simon King
That's me. If I've invited you to this odds are you already know what I do. If you don't, lemme explain. I'm loud and ridiculous but sometimes I do like to get a point across amongst the chaos. I'm a ranter, so come get yelled and see why I'm turning more and more to bourbon to silence the voices in my head. I've been doing comedy a long time and I'm getting a little tired of having to bite my tongue as much as I do. To that end I thought why not put a show on with some great comedian friends, exorcise some demons and meet some new like minded weirdos. So there you have it. It's $10 to watch some great comics go off leash. I think that's a pretty good deal. Now, go tell everybody.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. This joint has some of the cheapest booze in the city. Like $2 beer cheap.
