Not a very long trip, but it will take 5-7h, depending on the speed of the group and our route finding capabilities.

You must be in good physical condition and very comfortable skiing in the trees and/or steep terrain.

The trip will be canceled if the avalanche levels are HIGH.

  • Drivers MUST have winter tires.
  • Participants must be competent skiers or boarders.
  • Participants must have taken either the AST-1 Course or equivalent avalanche safety course
  • Participants must have a Probe, Beacon and Shovel and know how to use them.

I had a bunch of work to do this weekend. I thought I could finish it today, but I didn't accomplish nearly as much as I had hoped. Now, I really can't go on this trip. Sorry. Hope this doesn't mess up your plans.

I'm down for wherever we can get to, as long as there's descent skiing. I need to know ASAP whether this trip is still on though!

So, it seems that we have HIGH levels in the Alpine, wherever we go.
One option would be to get to Puma trail and turn back when we get to the alpine levels. This would be bring us to around 1650m.

Second option is Paul's ridge, but we need to use chains to get up to the trailhead...

    What do you think?
