The Return of Sci Fi Mo Ni

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, after a long hiatus, inspired by a long-overdue move and an unseasonably warm fall, filled with decidedly un-nerdy outdoor activities, it's time for Sci Fi Movie Night to resume, most triumphantly!

The title of the evening is up for debate, although I'm leaning towards 'Looper', because I simply haven't had a good JGL fix in far too long, but I'm open to suggestion.

Standard deal - potluck at 5, movie at 6. I'll supply grilled meat and various vegetarian- and vegan-friendly side dishes. There's plenty of booze, beer, coffee and tea products. The only thing different is the location!

It's still "Dave and Jen's place", but the side of town has shifted rather dramatically. See the notes for more details, and hope to see you there...errrr...here!

Scott, welcome to the group! Sorry you couldn't make it this time, but it's going to go back to a monthly event, so hopefully we'll see you soon!

Josh, that's the thing - nothing other than Pacific Rim really got me excited. There's Oblivion, meh. Elysium apparently sucked. Star Trek:Into Darkness, meh. After Earth oh no he didn't! Then a bunch of superhero movies. So, shrug. Looper it is!

I would be up for Looper for the exact same reason. What other sci-fi films came out this year? Oblivion? Pacific Rim?

Hey, new to the group here. Me and the wife would love to attend but will be out of town that weekend. We will try our best to make the next one!

Looper is our vote- we've never seen it before and it looks awesome :)

So...what movie do *you* think we should watch? This far out from the summer, there are plenty of more recent options available...

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
