Early Valentine's Day Fondue Dinner

This location is shown only to members

Valentine's Day and fondue just seemed to go together for us, so we thought we'd open our home up to other couples to join in on the fun. We'll have great food, wine, and hopefully a lot of laughs. More details to come but we thought we would provide the cheese and chocolate fondue, and you all could bring the dippers (thanks Kate and Mike for the idea!) It will be BYOB (to share!) We live in Norwalk, very convenient to 95 and the Merritt Pkwy. We'll email out directions to those who RSVP as the date gets closer. We hope to see some of you here.

Hi Ariel- So glad you guys can make it; we're looking forward to meeting you. I'm going to post a list of foods for everyone to select and bring (we're covering all the cheese and chocolate) and then we're making it BYO (to share!) I'll post the list soon and email our address and directions out too.

Hi Everyone - Here's the plan. Below is a list of foods that we need for next weekend. If you could please choose what items you'd like to bring and post it so we don't overlap, that would be great. There will be 10-12 of us so just keep that in mind:

    For the cheese fondue:
    * All the ingredients that go into the fondue (Katie and Sam)
    * 3-4 loaves of French bread (Katie and Sam)
    * 2-3 avocados (Please do not cut them until you get here -- don't want them to turn brown)

    * Sausage (the dried/cured kind - already cooked often in the Italian foods section) -- please cut into bite size cubes
    * 3-4 peeled and cubed apples (again you can cut here to avoid them turning brown)
    * 1 carton of cherry tomatoes
    * 2 red bell peppers cut into bite size pieces
    * Small chicken meatballs (pre-cooked) -- (Katie and Sam)

    For the chocolate fondue:
    * 1 bag of marshmallows
    * Mix of fruit cut up into bite size pieces
    * Angel food and/or pound cake cut into bite size pieces

    * Any mini cookies, brownies, or anything else that would be easy to dip
    * Wine (White, red, sparkling -- whatever you'd like)

If anyone has additional suggestions, just let me know.

    Thanks!

Hey guys! Mike and I will bring the marshmallows, fruit cup, and angel food cake for the chocolate fondue. :)

We will also bring a bottle of my favorite wine. I was thinking we could all try our wines, I love doing that! If you have a better suggestion, let me know. :)

Can't wait to see you all!!!

We'll do the brownies, mini-cookies and the red bell peppers. How about pretzels? We can bring those if it's ok - those would be good dipped in both cheese and chocolate!

@Mona - I would be up for some pretzels :-)

@Ariel - What fruits will you be bringing? I can help and bring some Strawberries or something so you do not feel you need to bring a huge variety.

Jodie - We go to Fairway market and they usually have a bowl of fresh, mixed fruit and we were just going to pick that up. Fairway is our favorite. :)

Hi Everyone- thank you all so much for coming last night and contributing wine and great dippers. And thanks for helping to clean-up (it wasn't as painful this morning!) We had a great time and were very glad to meet new people. Looking forward to whatever the next event might be. Sam and I love hosting so we're always happy to do something. I have a couple other ideas I'll pass along too. Enjoy your Sunday!

Sounds like a good plan to me Jodie :) P.S. I found the chairs. Sad to admit, but they were in my car; I never even took them out!!

The food and people were excellent, but Fondue is a lot of work. Maybe next time we can go to the Melting Pot and have them prepare it for us :)
