Apple Picking at the Orchard

Beak & Skiff has wagons that go out to the orchard where you can pick apples straight from the tree. Once finished, you grab a wagon to get back to the farm and they charge you by the weight of your bag, which typically is about 8 bucks if I remember right. The farm store has food, sauces and pastries. And their apple winery is a mile down the road for those who like cider/white wine. And of course its very scenic out there. They are open daily and the times are:

Farm Store: 10 am to 6 pm
Pick-Your-Own: 10 am to 5 pm
Winery: 10 am to 5 pm
Distillery: 10 am to 5 pm

Its actually fun, I promise and not too far with only a 20 minute drive. I'm thinking a Saturday late Sept or Early Oct. If I can get a few likes and date suggestions I'll host.

We had a great time at this event. Picking the apples was a lot of fun, and it was nice to get to know better some of the members of the group.

The cherry valley address is the apple winery while the Lords Hill Rd address is the actual orchard.

last time that I went up there with a large group, we donated the apples to a food pantry. i don't know who to contact about this but i think it would be a great idea. most food pantries aren't able to offer fresh fruit.

I don't think I will be carpooling this time. Not planning on coming back to Syracuse afterwards. Next time though perhaps.

We are meeting at the entrance to the orchard at 12:30 PM. I will send out my phone number the day before to all who RSVPed Yes in case we have a hard time finding each other. And yeah we're carpooling though my car is already full. Would be awesome if others who need rides and know each other could get carpools going.

Waiting on my sister to let me know if she's up for coming along. Might not know until the day of, but that shouldn't be a problem logistically, she lives near me, too.

Either date in September is good. Might be busy with family on Oct 2nd, don't know yet. (It's my b-day). If I'm not I'll let ya know.

Awesome, looks like people want to do this idea. How does everyone's schedule look for the following saturdays:

    Sept 18th
    Sept 25th
    Oct 2nd

I'm also thinking we meet at 1:30 PM. That'll give us plenty of time out in the orchards. Reply here or send me a message and I'll setup a meetup for the day when everyone (or most) people can go.

If we go carpooling might be a good idea. I just checked the website. Picking season is open. Everything is early this year cause of the weather.

It's been ages since I've gone apple picking. I am out of town Oct 8-12th, so that wouldn't be a good time.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
