Redwood Regional Park Skyline Staging Area (map)
Meet at Skyline Staging area.
Route TBD depending on trail conditions. Expect an approximate 4-5 mile route.
Leashed doggies welcome.
Easy to moderate pace with some climbing. No one will be left behind!
What to bring: sun protection, water, and a light snack in case you need it.
Hi Paul. I'd like us to have a different hike rather than the same one. The route will depend on how wet the trails happen to be so I won't map it out until Saturday afternoon on the 25th.
That said, if anyone would like to hike the same route as last Sunday, go ahead and suggest another meetup. This group has well over 150 members and can probably handle at leas 3-4 hikes per week. We need more hike leaders. Any member can lead. Last Sunday was my first time and I'm really glad I did it.
Actually, Mary, I'm more prone to go on the hike because it would be different. I live variety, so it's appreciated.
Totally agreed Mary. I organized the Saturday hike, and that was so much fun! Really easy for any member to do. I'm looking at the trails around Chabot and hope to do one for the 25th. Just want to make sure I try it out first. See you Sunday!
VV: I expect our hike to take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. I hope that fits into your schedule, we'd love to have you joins us :D
Sorry folks - I have to cancel this meetup. I have a 9:10 AM flight to Chicago for work. I created another meetup for the following Saturday. If someone is willing to lead this hike I can help you map a route. Please PM me today!!!
I would be happy to help. I'll get in contact with you. I checked out a bunch of the trails last weekend and got somewhat familiar, and I can do the trek you mapped out tomorrow to familiarize myself before Sunday.
Hey folks - Chris has offered to lead on Sunday (Chris is awesome, isn't he?!!). This is a big group so please help Chris by showing up on time, offering to help look for stragglers at way points, and by letting the group know if you intend to leave the group and go your own way. It would also be wonderful if 2 or 3 people would volunteer to walk behind the group to ensure no one is left behind.
We will hike the trail tomorrow and make sure I know the route to follow. If there is anyone else who can help out on Sunday, shoot me a text tonight or tomorrow at 415-404-1900
And oh...If anyone wants to carpool from Concord-walnut creek area, please let me know.
What's the parking like here? Fee/ pass? Plenty of parking?
Mark, there is plenty of free parking. If not in the parking lot then on the street next to it.
Hey i'd really like to go, but i realized that it will take me 3 hours by public transit and walking and i only live in west oakland.
I'd like to suggest a meet up location that is public transit accessible for next time -thanks
Hi Christine, great idea! If you know of a trail head with good public transit access, please do suggest it as a meetup. One of us (or you) can build a hike around that location.
Alameda carpool Chris?
