Hi, I'm 26, graduated with an English and have always loved to read. I just finished Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger and found it crass and beautiful and reverent all at once. I'd love to have the ability to discuss books with people who care too.
I don't know that I could choose, but I loved Memoirs From Antproof Case, Atlas Shrugged, The History of Love...Franny and Zooey, thought Lolita was beautiful, if sickening in terms of content. Zen and the Art of Motercycle Maintenence.. I think these would all qualify as favorites.
I've always enjoyed classics but I'm open to anything well written that strikes a chord of truth or beauty.
Oddly enough - The Catcher In the Rye. Somehow I missed all of Salinger's work, and now as much as I would like to tear through it, I'm attempting to savor it as much as possible, which is not necessarily easy!
