National Harbor Ride

If you join, please know that this is a short ride (8 miles total) because I'm lumping in pedal boating. If you prefer to get extra miles, I suggest you join another ride

If you prefer to join, 1) let me know if you would like to join the pedal boating or lunch or both, so I can make a reservation.

Meet at Founders Park in Alexandria (Oronoco St. and North Union St intersection).

Duration: 11-3

Mileage: 4 miles each way (8)

General Schedule:
- Bike out to National Harbor (takes about 30 min)
- 11:30-12 arrive at National Harbor for pedal boating for an hour. Those who do not want to pedal boat can go about on their own. There is a farmers market and shopping. National Harbor also has kayaks, but my intent is to do some light pedal boating (prices are here: http://www.boatingindc.com/boat-rentals)

-1-2 eat. Pedal back after to Alexandria or part ways.

Need: locks, cash, water, and helmet

Ride type/elevation: relatively flat but it would be good if you are comfortable with some hills. The Wilson Bridge is a gradual hill. The last quarter mile is crushed gravel and unpaved, but it's ok for roadbikes.

Costs: Pedal boating $25/hr for 2-4people per boat. Lunch is about $25.

I'm calling dibs on the swan boat. Steph, do you think they will let us take the pedel boats out on the open water or just around the National Harbor? I'm thinking of doing laps around hains point in the swan boat.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
