Ski/Snowboarding Trip (Snoqualmie West)

Lets go to the Summit (West) at Snoqualmie and shred some powder!

All skill levels are welcome. Last time we did this we had total newbies and advanced people. At minimum we can all meet for lunch and/or drinks on the mountain.

My plan is to arrive earlyish like 10am and leave by 4pm.

I'm a snowboarder but I've decided to try skiing. Some whilst I'm bringing my Snowboard, I'm also going to take Day 2 or the EZ to learn Ski class that they have there. So I'll be doing everything from green to black diamonds that day.

I suggest we meet at the Marina Mart parking lot off Westake if you want to carpool. Its free to park all day and there is lots of parking. Let's plan to leave by 8am. Otherwise feel free to meet at the mountain.

If you plan on meeting and are running late on the day for carpooling, get lost, need info, etc Please don't hestitate to call or text. My cell number is: (TWO oh aight) s3ven sixxxxx 0 - Nyne 6 eight NYNE

Makho, do you have room for another in your car? I can meet you on i-90 (exit 15 p&r). Alternately, if I end up driving up there on my own, is there a place/time we're meeting up at? Lunch?. there is some snow forecast mid day and temps under 20

At present I don't have an open spot in my car but I'll try to save one. The tentative plan is to meet at timberwolf cafe around noon

I'm heading up there myself to take a 4-week snowboarding class, so I might be with you EZ peeps :) If anyone wants to meet for lunch, post here and I'll go! I've never been up there so I have no idea where to eat!

Not a dumb question at all. People ask all the time. So generally people will leave their stuff right outside the building like you would do with a bicycle. Its pretty much honor system that no one will take your stuff. I've never met anyone who had anything taken but I've heard of it. Unlike bikes people don't lock their gear up when they go inside.

I'm not changing my RSVP but my partner and I decided to leave a little earlier to get to Hyak/East before heading over to West to try to meet up with some peeps. Let me know if you'd like to meet up. We are looking to meet some new friends :)

If you are planning to meet at Marina Mart to carpool, please be prepared to drive. I promise you will not NEED a SUV, 4 wheel drive, AWD, a Subaru or anything else that people seem to think. I drive up there often in my regular car without snow chains, studded tires, or snow tires. In fact once we arrive you will realize there are a lot of ordinary 2 wheel drive cars up there. I do have good all weather (M+S) tires though and that has sufficed for 10+ years driving on mountain roads. There is no substitute for responsible driving. We can always drive in a caravan just in case anyone is nervous about driving up but is considering it.

This is awesome! I am going to take the 3 day EZ to learn starting Jan. 5. Have never been on the mountain (with snow) before so this should be a good laugh.

I'm taking day 2 for skiing. Just as a heads up day 1 classes are at 10am and you should probably show up a minimum of 30mins ahead of time to sign up and get fitted for gear.

Yes you can rent a snowboard, boots, and/or helmet. Not sure about goggles. Same with ski gear.

I would also like to carpool from the eastside, I don't have a 4 wheel drive car unfortunately I do have all my snowboarding gear though.

Yes you can rent equipment at the mountains. check out their website if you can reserve it ahead of time (stevens lets you do that) and you can avoid long line at the rental place.

I'm interested in snowboarding anyone carpooling from eastside, I have my own board & gear, but my car doesn't drive well in snow...

One option is meet at East gate park and ride the carpool to the mountain. Additionally rei members can rent snowshoes. I would be looking forward to some snowshoeing. As always come prepared. Last year we went it almost turned into a blizzard.
