Welcome New Members,

It is time for Newbie Mixer! Doesn't matter whether you have just moved to Washington or have been here for a while, come out to have fun and make some new friends.

The event will be held at the two private function rooms of Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, with FREE APPRETIZERS and HAPPY HOUR MENU extended all night (just for our event). There will be a cash wine/beer bar and cover charge is $10 (cash only)

Traffic might get crazy on Friday nights, don't worry you can't be there at 6pm cause the event will last till 9ish, just come whenever you can!

This event is cross posted with a few other meetup groups, come have fun!

PARKING

The parking garage of Pacific Place is only $6 for the whole evening if you go in after 5pm, it is very convenient and safe.

A lot of people! I gave it a 4 because being a newbie I got lost, traffic on a Friday sucked, but it was worth the trouble!

I am glad most of us had a good time, the next newbie mixer will be on March 1. At the mean time check out next Friday's Wine Tasting + Annual Hat and/or Mask Party :)

So I am brand spanking new to WA all the way from CA.. I looked at the map and from what I can tell there is no dedicated parking to this building? Can anyone let me know where the best place is to park and walk? Or perhaps there are others like me that don't know where they are and want to park and walk with me?? Let me know, looking forward to my first night out in Seattle!

Hi everyone, I am very sorry for the late reply, I just got off work ( I work 80 hrs/week). Anyways about parking: The event is at Pacific Place, the underground garage parking of Pacific Place is only $6 for the whole evening if you go in after 5pm. So it is very convenient and you don't even have to go outside. You can either take the elevators to go straight up to the 4th level (where Gordon Breisch is located) or you can take the escalators up and do some window shopping.

Running a little late for the walking party but I'm on my way!

So I just called the restaurant and they told me that the Meetup group will have to pay a $10 cover plus $6 per beer [instead of the normal $4 per beer during happy hour]... I asked why we pay more and they said because it include tips... Isn't that what the $10 cover is for? If I walk in pretending to not be with this Meepup, I don't pay a cover AND I get cheaper beer?!! Hmm... So I'll be sitting at the bar enjoying my savings if anyone wants to join me, haha

    • Paul

Lindsay, for your information, they don't sell their beer for $4, thats new to me. The $6 beer is the happy hour price and it already included the 18% group gratuity...with the $10 our group can enjoy the happy hour menu all night normally happy hour stops at 6pm)... we can order food and drinks from the happy hour menu for the duration of our party...and we will also have free appetizers...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
