For three exciting days from October 21-23, the KORUS House of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean American Association of the Washington Metropolitan Area will host The 9th Annual KORUS Festival. Scheduled to appear on stage is an array of Korean and American performance artists, celebrities, and personalities.
The festival aims to bring together Koreans, Americans and all members of the community in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area to celebrate the dynamic and harmonious Korea-US relationship. Many aspects of Korea's vibrant and unique culture will be on display in the form of music, dance, food, and other on-stage performances.
The KORUS Festival takes place around the time of the traditional Korean holiday Chuseok, a holiday of thanksgiving that celebrates the beginning of the autumn harvest: http://en.wikipedia.o...
Admission is free and open to the public. This is a huge outdoor festival. Tens of thousands of people will be coming. Here is the Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.c...
We will be going on the main night- Saturday. As always for festivals, come when it is convenient for you. Festival runs from noon to 10pm on Saturday.
The Korean community did a great job of securing a nice venue, bringing DJ Cool from Korea, running security, and representing their community well. I'll take their best practices into consideration when I help plan the Vietnamese Festival.
