*** It's a great day for happy hour! See you tonight! ***
UPDATE #3: Drink specials are $4 Yuenglings, $5 20s & 30s Superstar drinks, and $6 house wine until 8pm!
UPDATE #2: Per my email, I need volunteers to help sign people in with name tags and to meet / greet folks! This is a great way to meet people, and help kick start a friendly vibe to the event. I need volunteers to fill 30 minute slots (which goes by very fast) on the hour. If you can help, please send me an email (go to my Meetup profile, and click “Send Email”) letting me know which top three time slots you prefer, in order of preference (do not post a comment on the event posting)!
UPDATE #1: Looks like this will be a good one! So tell a friend, come on out, meet new people, and help support a good cause! And again, I encourage everyone to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE!
Okay, time to get together for our next happy hour!
Our happy hour will benefit One Common Unity... www.onecommonunity.org ... a member supported non-profit organization whose mission is to create and nurture sustainable communities through innovative peace education, arts, and media... suggested $10 donation. Please note 80% of donations go to One Common Unity and 20% of donations will go to the 20s & 30s Going Out Group to cover Meetup fees and expenses.
DJ Saam will be spinning loungy groovy beats for us. Our happy hours typically bring out 150 - 200 folks... and I wouldn't be surprised with a similar turnout this time around.
If you haven't been there before, Cities features a natural, earth-toned color scheme and ambient lighting provides a simple, elegant backdrop! 21+
To help continue the friendly tone of this group, I'd like to again encourage each person to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE at this event. To help do this, for an icebreaker, we'll put your name in a jar as you walk in, and then give you someone else's name from the jar. Also, 20s & 30s Rockstars, please help make all the newcomers feel welcome to our group!
Metro and Parking
Closest Metro is Farragut West (Orange / Blue lines), I suggest Metro / cabbing it (especially during rush hour). I also recommend using wmata.com for travel plans. Don't forget to account for Metro, traffic, and parking delays. If you are driving, you will need to find street parking or a garage.
If you have any special needs (e.g. wheelchair, dietary for events with food included, etc.), let us know in advance (a week or more before the event) and we will do our best to accommodate. If you let us know the day of the event, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate. Thank you for understanding and we appreciate the courtesy of a heads up!
