UPDATE #5: We'll meet up at the "Pre-Party" area at 6:45pm and hang out before our scheduled time slot. I've been told there will be signs and people who can direct us. UPDATE #1: There are 10 early bird spots left and the price will increase from $40 to $50 when the early bird spots are gone or by Sun. Sept. 14th (whichever comes first). To be fair to those who want to join in and are ready to make payment, I'll be removing those that haven't paid by Tues. Sept. 9th. So make payment to *truly* lock in your spot (see the "Payment Instructions" section of the event posting). Let's get together for the Monster Glow Dash 5K!
I've made special arrangements with the organizers of this event and secured for us a block of tickets for our group! We are registered as the 20s & 30s Rockstars team, and we're scheduled for a "run / walk" time slot, so we are free to run or walk. Last year, they sold out at over 2000 participants! See video below from last year's run!
We'll meet up at Summerseat Farm at 6:45pm to check in, meet each other, hang out, and get ready for race time. Summerseat Farm is the perfect location for the Monster Glow Dash. It's a beautiful, wide open farm dating back to 1678 and has a notoriously haunted history and was even featured on Sci Fi’s Ghost Hunters episode “Ghostly Evidence!” It's a little over an hour away from DC proper.
We are encouraged to get as dressed up as we want before coming to the race so that we can be as glowtastic as possible! We'll receive a few glow accessories in our race packet, other than that it’s up to us! Keep in mind, they will be having a costume contest! At 7:45pm, we'll be off on our run for our scheduled time slot.
After the run, the MGD After Party begins, complete with dancing, food, beverages, and more, where their DJ will be playing the hottest mixes! All proceeds will benefit two amazing local non-profits, Heroes for the Homeland and Summerseat Farm. Heroes for the Homeland is a nonprofit organization made up of Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Personnel who wish to aid American Communities devastated by natural and man-made disasters. Summerseat Farm is a non-profit organization, which owns and operates the Summerseat Farm property to preserve the rural character, history, and natural resources of the farm and prevent it from development.
The regular price of this event is $68 (fees included). We've got an early bird special for this event of only $40! The first 25 paid sign-ups, or those who pay by Sun. Sept. 21st (whichever comes first) get the early bird price! After that, the ticket price will go to $50. Those that sign up the first week by Fri. Aug. 20th get a pair of neon socks! We have a LIMITED number of spots so make sure to RSVP early AND make payment to secure your spot and get the early bird price! Also please know that your RSVP is not guaranteed unless we receive payment. When you pay, your online receipt is confirmation that we have received your payment.

Please follow the instructions below for making payment (if payment by smartphone doesn't work, please try your computer). Payment at the door will be permitted only should the event not sell out. Most of our events do sell out, so we recommend you secure your spot online early. If you make payment for less than the current ticketed price displayed without prior correspondence, your RSVP will be removed.
1. Select "Yes" under "Will you attend?"
2. Enter the number of guests coming and click "Finish RSVP"
3. Click "Pay Now" at the top of the event posting near the ticket price per person
4. Verify correct dollar amount for number of people you're paying for, click "Pay Now" button
5. If you don't have a Paypal account, click "Pay with a Debit or Credit Card"
6. If you have a Paypal account, simply log in, and pay as you normally would via Paypal
If you need a ride, I suggest posting in the comment box below. Likewise, if you can offer a ride, please also post in the comment box with number of people you can accommodate. The event organizers will be providing glow gear prizes for those that come in a carpool!
The event organizers scored for us $94 rooms (ordinarily sold to the general public for $140) at the Home2Suite by Hilton, for our group, for this night only! The hotel is 13 miles away from the Monster Glow Dash location. For those that wish to drink alcohol, the event organizers will be securing buses that will pick us up from hotel and take us to Monster Glow Dash before the event, and back home again after. Enjoy the standard size queen bed, in-room 42" HDTV, iHome alarm clock with Apple docking connection, full kitchen (complete with refrigerator, microwave oven, dishwasher, flatware, microwavable cookware, coffeemaker and toaster), queen size sofa bed, and complimentary wifi! Event Check-in / Packet Pickup
I will have a master list of all those that have paid that I will submit to the event organizers. It’s not required, but I recommend printing out your payment confirmation as a backup. When you check-in, your RSVP will be listed under the name of the Paypal or credit card account used to make payment. Typically, this is your LEGAL name as shown on your driver's license. Sometimes, it may be under a company name if you set up your Paypal or credit card account that way. If you are not sure what it is, please take a moment to log into your Paypal account (it will say "Welcome, [your account name]" at the top) or your credit card account to find out. If you are RSVP'd under someone else's payment, please use that name for check-in.
Packet pickup will be available on race day. However, if you wish to get your packet beforehand, here are the following packet pickup locations and date / times:

Since we paid in advance for this event, all sales are final unless the event is canceled or rescheduled. If the event is canceled, you will receive a full refund. If the event is rescheduled, an UPDATE will be posted at the top of the event posting, and the UPDATE will also be sent as an email to the yes RSVPs. A full refund will be given to those that let us know within 3 calendar days of the UPDATE email if you are unable to make the new date. No refunds will be given after that time. Similar to a concert ticket or a football game ticket, you are free to sell your ticket to someone else if you are unable to attend. I suggest posting in the comment box for the event, that you have a ticket for sale. Work out payment between yourselves, and have the seller only send the organizer a "message" through their Meetup profile (do not comment in the comment box of the event posting) letting us know the full name and Meetup profile URL (if a member) of the person taking your spot. You must let us know by the RSVP close time of 12pm on Sat. Oct. 11th.
If you have any special needs (e.g. wheelchair, dietary for events with food included, etc.), let us know in advance (a week or more before the event) and we will do our best to accommodate. If you let us know the day of the event, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate. Thank you for understanding and we appreciate the courtesy of a heads up!

Q: Is the event timed? -- A: No, but you are welcome to bring your own watches!
Q: Are strollers and dogs allowed? -- A: Unfortunately we are asking our participants to leave strollers and dogs at home because of safety concerns
Q: What must I bring to pick up my race packet? -- A: Some form of photo ID (your driver’s license will work!)
Q: Can someone else pick up my packet? -- A: Yes. Just have them bring a signed note giving them permission to pick your packet up.
Q: Will there be parking? -- A: Yes, there will be plenty of space for free parking. They are expecting a huge turn-out race day, so expect traffic delays and please plan on arriving early!
Q: Where can I get glow gear? -- A: The event organizers will be selling glow gear on race day but they may sell out. Here’s a suggestion list of some of their favorite websites for buying glow gear: coolglow.com, flashingblinkylights.com
Q: What else should I bring with me? -- A: We suggest bringing cash if you’re interested in purchasing more glow gear, food, or drinks (vendors may accept credit cards). You will also want to bring an ID for packet pick-up (if you haven’t already).
