*** It's a great day for happy hour! See you tonight! ***
UPDATE #3: Drink specials are $4 Corona, $5 20s & 30s Superstar drinks, and $6 house wine until 8pm!
UPDATE #2: Per my email, I need volunteers to help sign people in with name tags and to meet / greet folks! This is a great way to meet people, and help kick start a friendly vibe to the event. I need volunteers to fill 30 minute slots (which goes by very fast) on the hour. If you can help, please send me a message (go to my Meetup profile, and click “Send Message”) letting me know which top three time slots you prefer, in order of preference (do not post a comment on the event posting)!
UPDATE #1: Looks like this will be a good one! So tell a friend, come on out, meet new people, and help support a good cause! And again, I encourage everyone to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE!
Okay, time to get together for our next happy hour!
Our happy hour will benefit Hope Connections... www.hopeconnectionsforcancer.org... a nonprofit organization that helps people with cancer and their loved ones deal with the emotional and physical impact of cancer through participation in professionally facilitated programs of emotional support, education, wellness, and hope... suggested $10 cash donation. Please note 80% of donations go to Hope Connections and 20% of donations will go to the 20s & 30s Going Out Group to cover Meetup fees and expenses.
DJ Saam will be spinning loungy groovy beats for us. Our happy hours typically bring out 150 - 200 folks... and I wouldn't be surprised with a similar turnout this time around.
I'm not sure how I swung it, but we are privileged to be visiting the brand new The Gryphon, brought to you by the same owners of Lost Society and Josephine. If you haven't been there before, The Gryphon is a "social house" featuring an assortment of premium aged meats, a full raw bar, and specially crafted cocktails that encourages guests to socialize through eating and drinking, while providing a lively, energetic, and fun atmosphere! 21+
To help continue the friendly tone of this group, I'd like to again encourage each person to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE at this event. To help do this, for an icebreaker, we'll put your name in a jar as you walk in, and then give you someone else's name from the jar. Also, 20s & 30s Rockstars, please help make all the newcomers feel welcome to our group!
Metro and Parking
Closest Metro is Dupont Circle South (Red line), I suggest Metro / cabbing it (especially during rush hour). I also recommend using wmata.com for travel plans. Don't forget to account for Metro, traffic, and parking delays. If you are driving, you will need to find street parking or a garage.
Most people will be coming from work, so business casual will be the norm.
If you have any special needs (e.g. wheelchair, dietary for events with food included, etc.), let us know in advance (a week or more before the event) and we will do our best to accommodate. If you let us know the day of the event, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate. Thank you for understanding and we appreciate the courtesy of a heads up!
