Okay, time to get together for our next happy hour!
Our happy hour will benefit The Nature Conservancy... http://www.nature.org/ ... The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people... suggested $10 donation. Please note 80% of donations go to The Nature Conservancy and 20% of donations will go to the 20s & 30s Going Out Group to cover Meetup fees and expenses.
DJ Saam will be spinning loungy groovy beats for us. Our happy hours typically bring out 150 - 200 folks... and I wouldn't be surprised with a similar turnout this time around.
If you haven't been there before, Cafe Asia puts a modern spin on everything from presentation to performance. Well known for it's pan Asian cuisine, it also houses two large full service bars! 21+
To help continue the friendly tone of this group... I'd like to again encourage each person to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE at this event. To help do this, for an icebreaker, we'll put your name in a jar as you walk in, and then give you someone else's name from the jar. Closest Metro is [INSERT CLOSEST METRO STATION (LINE COLOR)], I suggest metro / cabbing it (esp. during rush hour). I also recommend using wmata for travel plans. Don't forget to account for Metro and traffic delays.

It was a good meetup! Met tons of people; everyone was very approachable (guys and girls), and was fun to be in a friendly environment where I didn't feel like I was in a meat market. Plus, proceeds go to a good cause! Definitely going to more.

haha. meat market? my you are blunt. haha. the men are pretty behaved at these groups despite that the majority of them are single & have been for a while. part of it is because many of them are nice guys, some are just awkward but not many, & part of it is because they just havent found a personality to match theirs & they dont get anywhere close at work or close to home. i like you kelsi. we have to meet at the next meetup :) enjoy your holiday

The one star is for the guy and the girl who were greeting everyone. And apart from a couple of guys, everyone else looked unapproachable. I thought it was supposed to be friendly. Didn't know I had to go with a mindset as if I'm going on a mission to talk to people. Will try 1 or 2 such meetups to correct my impression. Else I'm done with this kind of activity.
