Tokyo-based 21 Foundation is reaching out to students and educators all around the world to help bring 21st century learning to 21st century learners. The movement, started in Japan by Tokyo International School founder Patrick Newell, is carried forward by parents and educators who believe that their children deserve the best possible preparation for life in this new digital era. 21:21 The Movie, shot in schools all over the world, provides a graphic insight into just how well children respond when learning is designed to empower the learners - regardless of their social background. The film is now being made exclusively available for screenings to the global Meetup community, in order to raise awareness, ignite ideas and generate discussions amongst students, parents and educators. It highlights the importance of children being at the centre of the learning process, a process using engaging & stimulating methods of teaching such as inquiry or project-based learning, integrating digital tools into the curriculum, acknowledging parents as being the primary educators, nurturing creativity and encouraging understanding and empathy for both other people and the environment in which we live - these are just some of the 10 elements seen as vital for a 21st century education. Join now to spark the fire in your local community!
