“ an interesting enough talking shop, with the good chair leveraging on works being done by the carefully invited panel - however, the topic of the 21CN's own emerging crisis regarding its own version of "leadship and trust" relating to its recent - as yet untransparent - decision to attempt to incorporate itself (ourselves?) as a private company limited by guarentee, albeit being described as non-profit, together with an as yet undisclosed and unelected Board membership, was not addressed: does this signal the end of the 21CN as we know it? do actions speak louder than words? are there plans for a full consultation at the earliest opportunity, or are we being left with no option but to vote with our feet? just curious at this early stage ... ”

— Steve on Jul 16, 2008.
“ I think anyone interested in political issues and happenings around us could show he/she cares and wants to share ideas with others and try to do something step by step. It's important to have the will and patience and try to think of possible actions and contribute towards solutions for 'world' affairs that matter the most and that need rather urgent attention and actions. Futhermore, there is a 'space' for those who don't find their interests to be shared or understood in their work environment or among other social groupings to meet people who are interested in similar issues and want to discuss them over, broaden their knowedge and start doing ''something''. ”
— Miroslava Macejkova on Jul 1, 2008.

— A former member on Feb 21, 2008.
“ A very fascinating group of people, and perhaps the biggest draw for me to the next session. What I found encouraging was the proliferation of intelligence and wisdom, but also the respect for the diversity of backgrounds and views there. As Francis said, those who debated were keen to leave their 'frameworks' and find a common ground with others of different beliefs and values. I had several lovely chats after the session itself, and I am hugely glad that I stayed after the session had finished. This is a fantastic group. ”
— Philip Pacanowski on Jan 31, 2008.
“ It was wonderful as we all had shared about humanism, and I had definetly learned something new about humanism and the west specially in the uk. ”
— Maria Abdalla Banna on Aug 21, 2007.
“ This was my first meeting attended. I travelled 90 minutes to attend and realise that I would like opportunity to join the debate/discussion rather than just listen. I could have presented for 10 mins on Leadership and trust beyond the UK. What vision do we have for the global community leadership challenges. What characteristics do we feel/think are needed now for 2010. Who in the world has them? I would have liked to hear more from 3 of the questionners. ”
— David John Leeper on Nov 12, 2009.

— Sapna Ramnani on Jun 25, 2009.
“ Since introducing the Human Rights Act in 1998 the British Government has built up one of the world's worst HR records. 500 Iraqi and Afghan deaths, including 150 children, murdered by order of Parliament and the UK government every day for the past 2000 days is the worst atrocity in British history - it must be stopped and its perpetrators [Blair, Brown, Straw, Cameron] must be held to account in court for their crimes. The 21CN Human Rights Now group should concentrate on using current and new law enforcement procedures and institutions to force the British Government to abide by its HR commitments. We badly need ordinary people to take a firm stand together against this atrocity and to take practical financial, political and legal actions to bring it to an end. Marching, demonstrating, protesting and meeting are useless unless they lead to real changes in the way we run this country. Help us to make this Meetup group a really effective agent for change. ”
— Chris Coverdale on Apr 18, 2009.
“ This was dedicated to and attended by people from the field of art scene in London much more that from the groups that are more interested in social issues, so that the meeting was a little bit one-sided. In my understanding, the accent should have been more on social issues than on problems faced by people working in various art groups. But, anyhow it was very good and interesting even for those who are not active in neither of the two fields. ”
— Anka Kalhaus on Feb 12, 2009.
“ A very promising roject. A possible alternative to the libertarian label (without the freemarket overtones of this latter movement). ”
— Janos Abel on Jun 14, 2007.
“ The movie was brilliant. There should have been more time for discussion. ”
— sarah ismail on Feb 21, 2008.
“ The real question is, what was achieved by this meeting? What was the objective of the meeting? This was not entirely clear at the beginning or summarized at the end. Maybe a simple poster (projector display would be better) with a message could have helped. ---- People may be interested to join this group to opt-in or opt-out in a level of discussion focusing on topical and political issues not addressed elsewhere. ”
— Zahid Adil on Jul 16, 2008.
“ Early days but potentially very stimulating, look forward to social events to get to know others in the group ”
—A former member on Mar 12, 2008.
“ It's great to join consciousness with similarly motivated people and get involved with what's going on. Beats watching telly! Francis' depth and breath of knowledge are clearly evident and he has a wonderful gift of being able to LISTEN and gain almost total grasp of what someone has just said. FRANCIS FOR PRIME MINISTER! But keep him humble otherwise he'll be seduced by the money and power and end up as useless as the current lot! ”
— Zeus on Mar 13, 2008.
“ The mtg. rooms at Portcullis House are 'state of the art' as far as facilities are concerned. It was therefore disappointing that the organisers were unable to ensure that these facilities were properly used. Did the chairman not realise these are the important preparations for a good mtg.? The showing of the video was marred by intermittent blanking of the screens and speakers would have been easier to hear if the microphones had been switched on. The speakers themselves were knowledgable and interesting. ”
— Max Ehrenwerth on Mar 13, 2008.
“ This was an example of democratic and intelligent discussion. I would recommend these meetings to anyone interested in issues that they feel need to be given more priority. However in this case I had assumed the purpose of the meeting was to advance the campaign to eliminate nuclear weapons and remove the threat posed by proliferation and terrorism. Whilst it was interesting to hear views and updates about the need for disarmament this was largely accepted as the reason why we met. Most of the meeting was devoted to airing these views. The meeting created no actions, no plans and only served to provide a platform for diverse views and political gestures. A lost opportunity. ”
— Mike Fitzsimons on Mar 19, 2008.
“ I think this group has the potential to make a very important contribution on a number of global challenges that are and will affect our lives in the future. By inviting members of the public, NGO practicioners, policy makers and government representatives to these meetings the group could become an important think tank on a number of issues fostering important linkages between the state and civil society in Britain and beyond. Join this group and be part of this process. ”
— mattia fumanti on May 22, 2008.
“ I feel that not many people bothered to turn up after replying "yes" Which is sad because it had the making of a nice gathering..... Perhaps it is a matter of extracting a more positive and committing answer to attend...Because if one is to make / arrange a venue where commercial interest are paramount then we would end up with egg on our face and will not be taken seriously therafter.... A thought worth considering....! CIAO. ”
— Ramesh vadgama on Feb 6, 2008.
“ the group was interesting but slighly subdued, probably because of the high turn out of new members. ”
— Laurence J Foster on Aug 20, 2007.
“ Francis is organized and very fair and open to all his members. Unlike many meetup groups which are completely un-organized and un-structured. I am sure it will turn out to be a much bigger group due to it's fair attitude and overall goal of bringing understanding between people and standing up against injustices. ”
— A former member on Sep 29, 2007.
