This meeting will be about our Social Action Groups. Coordinators of each group will tell us what is happening in their group and what their plans are. We will then break up into how many social action groups we have by then so members can find out what is happening and decide if they wish to take part.

This is a chance to get the social action groups off the ground and to plan for the future. It is also a chance to see what other groups people are interested in and see how we can start them up..

Thanks4last night. Joy to be in room with so much vibrant conversation about issues. We'll aim for separate rooms4groups (re noise levels) nxt time, & evolve format, but what a good start.ThankU everyone for contributing. Sorry re ending. Regarding nxt SA meeting we may change format by breaking straight into small grps. This will give more time2conclude& commit to tasks. Also method of minuting, reporting&finding consensus will improve with practice&team building. + pub after each meeting..

Janos I do not think that is what we want to do on the meeting on the 11th as we want to develop our own social action groups. However I think you have suggested a great idea and perhaps we should plan something like that is the future - a social action stall - where we invite people in 21st Century Network to come and give a 4 minute presentation just as you suggest about their group and what they do. That is a great idea!

Meta considerations: /-/ It would be interesting to have a slot when people promote someone else's social action group. /-/ Also, remember that, with 35 people, a two-hour session means that each person has *less than four minutes* of contribution time. Prepare to not to "hog" the meetup unless invited to be one of the few main contributors.

    •  A very successful meetup. However, the issues discussed are complex and large. We must not underestimate the time and effort that remains to be committed before tangible results are reached.
    •  Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay for the full time, but I found it interesting, there seems to be considerable potential in this group, although there is also a risk of it becoming diffused through trying to take on too much.
    •  Sorry about the necessity to leave early but from all accounts the meeting went well especially in the small groups and people felt involved. I think we can build on this and make the social action groups strong. Thanks to all the co-ordinators and to Angela and Chris for suggesting new action groups. And a special thanks to Mark for chairing the latter part of the meeting in an emergency and without warning! It is not an easy thing to do and can be a baptism of fire. So thanks to all for your contribution and support and let’s hope it goes on from strength to strength.
    •  this meet up degenerated after Francis left. leaving Mark to Chair the round up session was not a good idea. Mark has a lot of strengths and good ideas but he is not a good chair. He introduced the final session explaining that we had half an hour to hear from each of the [7] sub-groups and have an open session for 15 minutes to get peoples suggestions on how to move forward. He then started to give feedback from his session speaking for just over seven minutes despite being reminded of the timescale. He then brought in the other girl who had been leading his group [3 mins]. After a question from the floor he suggested changing the format to a question and answer session about the issue that had been raised. By this time we had less than 3 minutes to hear from all the other six groups. Having forcefully suggested we get to the plan and hear from each of the groups we then heard foreshortened reports from the other groups. Next time appoint a skilled chair.
    •  I'm looking forward to the climate change group providing a useful signposting role. It was interesting to see a range of people being active and engaged.
    •  This was my first meet-up. I enjoyed meeting the people in the group and was most interested in what Janos said, and in learning that there are Transition Town initiatives in London.
    •  lacked a clear objective - wasn't sure what, if anything, was going to happen next.
