MIG welding master class

Hai gais!

so we've been getting requests for some welding classes, and i figure it's about time to have another MIG welding session.  This will be a more intense class than the past one, with focus on creating a print in CAD, weld sequence, and puddle response.  The most difficult part about becoming a good welder is simply practice time - how many hours you have spent burning wire.  I want to give you plenty of focused time and guidance on improving your welding skill, and here's your chance to do it.

Our shop is growing (have you come by lately), we're in the middle of reallocating space, and we could use some more custom shelving.  If you have a personal project you'd like to work on, that's fine too, just bring it by and we'll take a stab at it.

I'm asking for a small donation to cover the cost of materials, gas, and a new stripper pole to be installed in the new space (SRSLY!)

Here's a small cross section of the things we've been making lately -

(this is aluminum, BTW)

See ya Sunday!

Will thee be another class like this soon? Too short of a notice o request work off and I would really like to learn to weld from someone experienced.

Can't wait! Can I bring anything? Some waters? Snacks? Beer for after class?

Hi Machinist, tried to send you a message but not sure you got it.

I'm interested in the class. I have a MIG welder at home that I haven't used yet -- would like to know how to use it properly and make nice looking welds. I do have previous experience.

What's the purpose of the CAD drawing? Is it for a project you have in mind that we'll be working on? Do you have mostly sheet metal to practice on, or heavier stuff?

CAD drawing is to make the cut list easier to figure out. I have a project in mind, but this is a pretty free-form day. I have lots of variety of materials to use, light and heavy gauge.

Is there a desired prerequisite skill level for attending this session? I have not welded a single thing in my life -- I would love to learn, but I don't want to be a burden if the intent is to teach to an experienced group.
