This has kinda been here long enough. I think some retro gaming and some booze for those who drink (I don't anymore but I don't mind being in a bar) could be a fun friday night.
I have a bit of blue in my hair if you do decide to go. Not sure that I will stay until closing but I should be there for a bit... if you need to get a hold of me I believe my facebook is listed or shoot me an email. ([masked]) and put the subject as arcade meetup and we can exchange contact info
Hopefully some will be able to make it. I know this is pretty short notice
The arcade scene now days is terrible. Might even be worth a shot to check out some pizza joints or pool halls as well.
I've never been to blipsy or sassony before... I liked redondo beach back in the day. I don't really like FAC all that much tbh
I converted the Master Bedroom in my house into an Arcade with pinball machines, arcade cabinets, from the 80s & 90s. My Mame cabinet has over 3000 old arcade games on it.
There is a retro arcade bar in k-town that's supposed to be cool.
Family Fun in Northridge has a couple old school Arcade game machines. Or we could just meetup at someone's crib with a bunch of laptops, and MAME! There is also a pizza place and a sushi place for food next door to the Family Fun Arcade.
I belong to a Video Game Meetup Group. We are having a BBQ on Saturday in case anybody is interested. There is a game room with a MAME Cabinet with over 6000 old arcade games plus a modified Xbox with emulators of N64, SNES, NES, etc. with over 1000 of those games. San Fernando Valley Video Game Players is the Meetup Group if anybody is interested in attending.
I changed the date and time to Friday, June 01, 2012 at 6:00 PM
Cool, I have never heard of this place but this sounds like my type of MeetUp. Just me and some Mz Pac Man or something that costs a quarter and I can play for 30 minutes. Not $1 for 30 seconds.
But I'll buy something at the bar if I can, but I'm not much of a drinker either.
I'm more of a smoker, as in the MARIJUANA kind.
I tend to agree... I'll arrive around 6... I'll probably be there until 9 or 10 depending on how things go :D
also I changed my hair out of boredom... but I always carry an x-men lunch box so you should still be able to recognize me :D
I have been here a few months and dont get out much but i'm all for a good game night with booze involved
I'm down! If referring to the Redondo Fun Factory I would rather pass. Too bright and too many kids. Plus I heard that they removed all of their Pin Ball machines and who knows what else.
I'll throw in these three places as suggestions. Never been to them. Just found them interesting on Yelp.
