I will be traveling back home from the bay area to shoot a short film at the end of June. I am in need of cast and crew to make that happen. The current casting call is copied here:
We are currently casting for a short film, 'Astrobot Apocalypse', to be shot at the end of June. This is a scifi comedy involving robots. The story takes place during a future in which machines have destroyed human civilization and continue to enslave or hunt down the few who remain. We follow a group of these survivors as they journey through Astrobot occupied territories. This is a no pay gig, but we will of provide food, credit, clips on request for use in your own demos, professional reference and a fun atmosphere. Three days of principle photography are expected. Shooting will take place during the last week of June in and around Eureka. Dates are not currently locked down. We are currently seeking the following roles: Ellen - Female, under 30. Mysterious character; must be able to portray both damsel in distress and soldier attitudes. Conner- Primary comic relief. Conner has never been a soldier and is not prepared for the hardships of fighting instead of laying low. John- Long time resistance member. Hardened militant type. Extras- Refugees, robots (wear an awesome costume on camera!), enemy Volunteers. Low commitment. We are also continuing to seek production crew members in various roles. Right now the main concerns are finding one sound recordist and one makeup artist to help with a facial prosthetic.
