Talk about this Meetup
I'd like to suggest that for one of the meetings we read the 99 Seat Agreement out loud. We may ask Michael Van Duzer to attend. Pat Loeb is also well-versed in the code and may be able to answer questions that would come up. Since quite a number of us work with and are affected by the plan in one way or another, it might be beneficial to be addressing issues with a common language and understanding at least regarding current code issues. The 99 Seat Code will affect how the group moves forward.
Posted by Gregory Franklin February 23, 2011 at 12:46 PMThanks for the suggestion. While I am not sure reading it out loud would be the best use of the time, have a copy on hand would definitely be beneficial. We are going to set-up the next meeting for people to share what they want to talk about (ie concerns, questions, needs, etc) and then have a longer mingle time people can connect/talk with other that have their same issues. I am sure 99 Seat Code will be a topic a group of people will want to discuss, so it will be great to have Pat there.
Posted by Dennis Baker February 23, 2011 at 1:41 PMHow does one do a search on the Meetup site to find our group? I've tried but must be missing something.

Posted by Dennis Baker February 23, 2011 at 1:34 PMThank you all for attending. I forgot to announce to the group that we are working with LA Stage Alliance to get forum up in their web page where we can post the notes from the meetings, continue the discussion, have a running feed from the #LAThtr twitter discussion, etc. I will announce when that is live here.
Posted by Dennis Baker February 21, 2011 at 11:35 AMThe Echo was thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful meeting last night. Can't wait to attend the next one. Plus, the wine didn't suck either!

Posted by Tracy Eliott February 21, 2011 at 5:52 PMThanks to everyone who attended last night's meeting. Celebration was happy to host and we look forward to seeing you all at Boston Court next month.
Posted by JohnMichael Beck February 21, 2011 at 11:34 AMFantastic gathering last night! I had a blast and I hope everyone else did as well. Thanks again to everyone for coming and to Celebration for hosting. I'm looking forward to this dialogue continuing and seeing where it goes.
Posted by Gregory Crafts February 21, 2011 at 11:09 AMI'm amazed at the eclectic nature of equity-waiver right now. Love the new blood coming in. Now we just need to get to some of the stalwarts like Lillian/Elephant off Main, Circle X, Boston Court and A Noise Within, etc. We can't have a meeting on LA Theatre without them . ..and a lot more. (sorry I had to leave early.)
Posted by Cathy Reinking February 21, 2011 at 11:00 AMI'm really glad I took part in this. Its just a start in a long process, but at least we've started.
