Flying Dog Brew Tour & Night Riding @ Liberty

In case the impending Mayan Apocalypse doesn't already give one an excuse to drink, or if unseasonably warm weather has you up in arms about the snow conditions... then do not fret, because we have the cure for what Ales you!

On Sunday-Fun-day, January the 13th 2013 — Chesapeake Ski & Board Club shall premier a brewery tour at the world infamous Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, MD then following it up with a Night Ride at Ski Liberty. (Ski goggles necessary, beer goggles not, but will be tolerated)

For those who haven't heard of nor tried any of Flying Dog's eccentric gamut of craft beers, then you're in for a treat. Upon entering the facility, you'll be given an 8oz tasting glass, which will be promptly filled with a brew for your enjoyment before the tour. You will then be whisked away into the magical realm of brewing engrossed within the dank smells of boiled malt & barely, and then shown the fundamentals of beer making. Bring your sense of humor because the tour guide will surely offer several bad jokes which you'll awkwardly laugh at. The tour concludes with your venture into the taproom showcasing all of Flying Dog's craft beers, and even several rarities that you can't find in stores! You are given eight wooden tokens with which are each used to imbibe in the beer(s) of your choosing.

Cost: $10.00 per person for the brewery tour + money for lift and rentals should you not have a night club card

Meet-up: 1:00PM Everyone meet up at the I70-695 Park & Ride and will promptly depart for the brewery.

Brewery Tour: 2:00PM kicks off the tour, so don't be late lest some other schmoe will gladly take you place!

Night Ride - Ski Liberty: R.S.V.P. to attend for more info! Email [masked] subject flyingdogbrewery with your name and phone number to RSVP.

We need to have a headcount in for the Brew Tour by next Monday. So please RSVP by Friday December 14th. You won't want to miss this, plus we are trying to put together a sweet raffle to participate in for those that attend.

I want to personally thank everyone that made it out for this event. It was great to see everyone and to meet some new faces. Even with the mild temps and sloshy (taking about the snow) conditions it turned out to be a great night! Thank you all, again. I hope to see you all out at some of our future trips and meetups. If you haven't done so already, please feel free to add us on facebook and give us your email if you would like to be added to our monthly distribution list. [masked]

Just to let you guys know - I was skiing at Ski Liberty last night, and the snow cover was very thin. It is going to get worse with the temperatures going up to 60s, and they can't make any snow with the worm nights. I don't think that it will be enjoyable or even possible to ski on Sunday.

Thanks mike for the update. We're aware and we receive the snow reports everyday. Most of us have to go to pick up our Night Club Cards and it's just a fun opportunity to get out there and just take our first turns of the season. There will be plenty more meetups for everyone!

It's not too late. Some people are carpooling and some driving on their own... The carpool is meeting up at the park and Ride at I70/695. We are leaving there at 1PM... I do believe that our VP (Matt) has an extra seat in his car.

Great - a friend and I would like to join and will meet the group at the park and ride before 1. Ideally, we would love to carpool with other but, if there are not spots for 2 people and a pair of skis, we can follow others from there.

What's your email address... I'll add you to the list. I think our Membership Coordinator is willing to drive if we have more people.

Is it too late to sign up for this? Is transportation being provided or are people driving on their own?

If you have not already responded to the email in regards to carpooling and bringing gear I need you to email [masked] to coordinate.

    Thanks A Bunch!

Looks like we will have about 15-20 people for this Brew Tour. We are meeting at the Park & Ride I70/695 shortly before 1PM. I would like to be on the road by 10 minutes after to allow us time to get there. We will be meeting at Ski Libery infront of the Group Sales Bldg between 5-530..

Will there be a meeting place/time at Ski Liberty if I go directly there?

I am in Baltimore, Roland Park. Can anyone give me a ride? I can meet you somewhere if that makes it easier for you.
    Thanks!
