Walk the House Creek Greenway and a Tipple

Let's do something a little different! We will walk part of the House Creek and Reedy Creek Greenways starting at Roger's house around to Wade Avenue and up to the Ridgewood Shopping Center. The total distance is a bit over 2 miles round trip. This will be at a leisurely pace, but there are a few places where the grade is a bit steep around the intersection of the greenways.

The walk will start near mile marker 2.25 on this map and loop up to Wade Avenue and back down Ridge Road.

They have conveniently located the Ridgewood Wine and Beer Company just off this trail where there are selections of wine and craft beers in small servings. For example, a 4.5oz sample of one of their craft beers is around $2. (You must be 21 years old for the tasting. This is a joke.)

The store has a tasting every Saturday from 4-6pm which are very popular. After a bit of tipple, we will proceed down Ridge Road and back to our starting point.

The address will be sent to the attendees near the time of the event. Please note that this event is subject to weather.

From their web site: http://www.ridgewoodwineandbeer.com/
"FREE WINE TASTINGS EVERY SATURDAY

I'm pretty sure this will happen again. I had a blast. I hope everyone enjoyed the walk and wine tasting. I'm pretty sure we will be welcomed back into the wine store whenever we want to go. It was fun to hang out at the house with such a great group of people.

Roger, I had a large pine tree fall on my house yesterday! Tree removal was supposed to be here by noon but now can't come until 3:00 today. I'm sorry to RSVP and then cancel! Wish I could be there:)

Holy cow! Tree removal from house is definitely on the list of approved excuses. I hope everyone is okay. See you again soon.

Sorry! I really wanted to do this trail. I have seen it from 440(?) and have been curious. Beer is always good also. But I brought a nasty cold back from MD and I'm sure you all won't want to share.

Sandy, I sent out an email yesterday with the info. I need to send it again since a few people have RSVPed since then. You should see it soon.

I have a slight adventure planned for this event since this is 2nd Half "Adventures" and Socials. In the spirit of "You paid for it so you might as well use it", those who wish to go can go half way across the I-440 pedestrian bridge (about 100 feet off the trail.) We can take photos, wave at cars, or anything else that happens to be legal. This is entirely optional.

Hi Roger, Is this trail dry or muddy?

    March 7, 2014

    • Roger A.

Hi Judy, the greenway is completely paved. There will be no mud unless someone falls off the trail. The sidewalks from the wine store back to my house are concrete.

A little tipple (is that like Ripple?) and I can walk even further ! lol

    March 4, 2014

    • Roger A.

You can ask at the bar for Ripple, but I don't guarantee you will like the response. We all will be hiding in the back. :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
