Lost some friends and family in California and decided I needed to find a new place to begin again. I chose the triangle area because of the lush green beauty in our forests, the wildlife, all the out-of-doors activities. I loved all the cultural opportunities like the opera, the symphony, theater, so many museums, and the universities that offer entertainment as well as education. I saw so many chances to try new things, explore new places and learn the history of this area that goes back to the British colonies. I am thrilled with my choice of North Carolina.
I'm enjoying southern cooking for the first time. I love hush puppies! A good prime rib and or steak Chinese, Mexican, Italian,…gee, can you tell I just love to eat?
Being raised in a military family I lived in Japan and Okinawa as a child and moved every couple of years to a new state. Calif, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Georgia, Arizona, Massachsetts, Ohio. I guess I would call California home.
The first half of my life was filled with all sorts of obligations. Being a student, a wife, a mother, a working woman. Now I have the opportunity to stretch and discover things that I enjoy and the time to do it. With no family to speak of, this is also a time for me to find new friends that I can claim as family. Over time I am certain that my "family" will continue to grow and I will be enriched with each new friendship.
Dining out, theater, movies, trail walking, boating, discovering neat little towns in North Carolina, beaches, the Outer Banks, visiting museums and art exhibits, wine and cheese evenings, birding and gardening come to mind.
A recent transplant from So Cal and loving it here.
I am delighted with the opportunity to meet new people who have interests similar to my own and to be introduced to new and wonderful opportunities around the Raleigh area.
